Through a grant from the Heinz
Endowment we are expanding our
program provide mentoring for 60
young people.
We are recruiting High School
Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors
through out Western PA.
A special emphasis on African
American males

•   Students recruited from 9th, 10th, and 11th grades plus existing
    students in current program
•   Grade point average of at least a 2.0
•   African American male focus, but will accept up to 20 % females
•   Must have at least 2 references (1 personal, 1 professional)
•   Must agree to attend at least 80% of all Saturday workshops,
    including tutoring
•   What’s in it for the student??
•   They understand that they will be provided an opportunity to
    travel to 100’s National meeting and on various summer trips; will
    receive a notebook laptop computer, other rewards, and additional
    networking opportunities

• “I’m the Bomb. Com” – Technology Skills

• “Kujichagulia” – Cultural Awareness

• “Red Carpet Style” – Health & Wellness

  Financial Literacy / Economic Opportunities / Entrepreneurial

• Saturday Morning Tutoring (National Society of Black
    Engineers students from CMU)
• SAT Prep
• Kwanza Celebration
• INFO Link 100 (Computer Skills Training @CMU)
• Regional & National African American History Bowl
  Competition
• Regional & National State Farm Financial
  Empowerment Competition
• Seniors Attend Nation Conference, Atlanta, GA
