- #4 이 region의 수는 고정된 것은 아니고, 여러분들의 요청을 기반으로 빠르게 확장하고 있습니다. 올해의 첫 region인 서울을 시작으로 내년 초까지 미국 오하이오, 유럽 런던, 인도, 중국 region 계획을 공식적으로 발표한 바 있습니다.
- #5 각각의 region은 2개 이상의 데이터센터 군들로 구성되어 있는데 이를 Availability Zone, AZ라고 부릅니다. 이 AZ은 각각 지리적, 물리적으로 분리되어 있고, 독립된 파워, ISP를 사용하고 있습니다. 그말인즉슨, 예를 들어 도쿄 region내 한개의 AZ가 화재가 나서 outage 가 발생할지라도 다른 AZ에는 문제가 안생길 가능성이 높다는 것이지요. 그래서 한 region을 사용할 때 여러AZ를 사용하는것은 고가용성 아키텍쳐 HA구현의 기본이 됩니다.

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud gives you enterprise-class computing power on-demand, allowing you to provision one server, hundreds of servers, or even thousands of servers in minutes or hours instead of weeks or months. We also provide several automation tools which allow you to spend less time carrying out time-consuming tasks, and more time on strategic business initiatives. AWS CloudFormation gives developers and systems administrators an easy way to create and manage a collection of related AWS resources. With CloudFormation, you can automate the creation of entire server farms. Third- party automation solutions such as Chef and Puppet are also supported. I mentioned using dedicated connections with AWS Direct Connect in the context of security, but Direct Connect can also increase the throughput and reduce the latency of your connection to the AWS Cloud for improved performance. AWS also provides superior auto-scaling capabilities that are flexible enough to scale manually, by schedule, by policy, or by auto-rebalance. Your instances can be automatically launched or terminated to ensure applications are balanced across multiple Availability Zones. To help you keep track of your resource usage on AWS, Amazon CloudWatch provides custom metrics and allows you to set automated alarms when you cross your self-determined threshold for any metric. - #27 We have heard reports from the filed through some partners that Microsoft sales teams are claiming that SharePoint and other products are “not supported” on AWS. Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP): AWS does not need to be SVVP validated for customers to be fully supported running Microsoft workloads on AWS. They say this in their own SVVP statement. If a problem is identified with a Microsoft product on AWS that expands beyond AWS technologies, then AWS works closely with Microsoft support to provide a coordinated support experience for customers. AWS has a Premier Support agreement with Microsoft.

For smaller organizations with up to 250 devices or users, the Microsoft Open programs offer flexible, low-entry requirements. For larger organizations with 250 or more devices or users, Microsoft offers the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement and Select Plus. These programs offer perpetual licenses, with rights to use the software for as long as you wish once you have purchased and paid for the license, and non-perpetual licenses, which are more commonly associated with subscription programs. A non-perpetual license grants you the rights to use the software for as long as you maintain your subscription(s). Certain programs require that all PCs be covered by a desktop enrollment which we will look at in detail further ahead. And Software Assurance, also called SA, is included in all programs except in Open License, Select Plus, and MPSA where it is available as an option.
