The story follows George and Hunky, two men working on a tobacco farm in Ontario. Hunky is actually named Stanislaw Szymaniewski but goes by Hunky, likely adopting the name to assimilate after immigrating from Poland. Their employer, Maurice Vandervelde, runs the farm with an iron fist. After learning more about Hunky's background and kind acts on the farm, George's initial impressions of him change. In the end, George avenges Hunky's death in a hit-and-run by confronting the man responsible.
