John T. Unger is taken to a secret party at the Rocky Mountains hosted by Percy Washington. Percy's father owns a diamond as valuable as the Ritz hotel that they keep hidden. During a party, the military bombs the site believing the diamond to be an enemy fortress. John, Percy and Kismine narrowly escape and decide to remain in hiding at the location, which they name Hades.
