• Development of national/regional Adaptation practices
IV. Encourage international cooperation with non-
European countries
:the VISION

responses to policy-relevant CCIVA questions
2. Facilitate cooperation across European CCIVA research
programmes and institutions
3. Promote the alignment of national and regional CCIVA
agendas under common strategic research and policy areas
– e.g. support of NAS via joint research
4. Fund joint initiatives and joint calls on CCIVA research
5. Share knowledge in support to the EC & our members
:the OBJECTIVES
CIRCLE-2 MOUNTain
Mountain research was seen as an important topic for several
European countries and their research programmes
Austria developed this group of interested funders further top get to
the call in 2009
 increase knowledge of options, premises and barriers for climate
change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation (CCIVA)
 including the relationship between adaptation and mitigation in
mountain areas.
 Special emphasis has to be laid on the involvement of decision
makers / developers and relevant stakeholders.
