The ASEAN Community is based on three pillars: the ASEAN Security Community, ASEAN Economic Community, and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community. The ASEAN Security Community aims to maintain peace, security, and stability in the region as well as enhance ASEAN's ability to manage its own security. ASEAN has 10 member countries: Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, and Singapore.
