Christie Rampone, captain of the World Cup champion US Women's National Soccer Team, was honored with a parade in her hometown of Manasquan, New Jersey. Rampone, a Point Pleasant Boro High alum, has had a successful international career spanning 16 years, during which she has won two World Cup championships and four Olympic medals. She hopes to inspire local youth soccer players to achieve their dreams as well. The Point Beach girls volleyball team is working to improve their passing and serving under new head coach Andrew Hanniffy. Their goal is to have a winning season and qualify for postseason tournaments after missing out last year.
