- 1. The specific risks involved with social media, brand and corporate reputation
management.
Social media presents a very specific risk to yourself, your company or your brand and
reputation. Standard risk management often fails to respond to social media risks.
This session will put in plain words the greatest social media risks and highlight some
real examples. You will learn the tools for your personal risk management plan.
CEO, CIO, CTO, Security Officer (CSO, CISO), Risk and Compliance Managers. It is a
jargon free non- technical presentation for forward- thinking decision makers and
executives to educate on an inevitable topic with a strategic angle.
Risk management of social media risks. Learn how to respond and handle a social
media crisis. Apply the tools for assessing the social media risks for your company.
How much is your brand or reputation is worth? How long did it take to establish this?
Today's businesses are in a glass house, one unhappy customer; former or current employee
can cause considerable damage to your brand or reputation. There is no digital eraser with
which you can wipe out inaccuracies. Remember: 'The internet never forgets.' Astray sent e-
mails, intentional or unintentional data leaks, comments in online forums or blogs, will
remain available indefinite.
Social media is still a very new topic in the corporate world. To understand the aspects,
dynamic and characteristics of social media risk I will use some real world examples of
events that happened to Nestlé (Greenpeace), Cisco and the English MI6 chief.
This session has the focus of discussing the main risks and issues that are emerging with the
use and introduction of social media at work.
Based on my personally developed problem lifecycle I will explain how you can assess where
in the crisis development you are and what level of influence you still have. With social
media it is the case if you wait too long the problem is literally out of your hand. This makes
social media risks so particular. The reaction to these risks is usually measured in hours
when not minutes. The presentation will also deliver guidance in what to do in an
emergency.
