Job Description:
• The Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing the execution of one
or more software enhancements to the VistA Imaging suite of productions.
• The Project Manager will guide a team of functional and technical staff in full lifecycle
development activities.
• Position is responsible for the overall success of one or more project objective, with
respect to project planning and scheduling, team organization, technical guidance,
and production release.
• Successful manager will have strong skills in each of these areas, and must also
develop a firm understanding of the software engineering approach and technical
subject matter / domain of the VistA Imaging program.
Qualifications:
• 10 years of experience in project management.
• Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, computer science, or related
technical field or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Software engineering background, including hands on development experience.
• Fluency in multiple software development methodologies, including the VA SDLC.
• Demonstrated expertise in schedule development, staff management, risk
management, and written/verbal communication with internal team and customer
stakeholders.
• Ability to drive aggressive delivery schedules while maintaining quality and cost
requirements.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff.
• Knowledge of medical imaging technologies desired.
• Experience with financial planning, modeling, and cost control.
• PMP preferred.
