1. 1. What is copyright and what does
it protect?
Copyright is something 5that someone puts on an image of a piece of work to make
sure that no one can rip it off as there own. This is done to protects peoples art,
images, work and anything else’s that someone might want to make there own and
take the credit for something they haven’t done.
You can be done for this, and there is different punishment for the majority of the
breach in copyright. For instance, if I use someone’s image in my work and don’t ask
for permission I could get all my work taken from me and kicked off my course, but if I
steal someone’s work and make millions from it I may be arrested. And prosecuted.

2. 2. How can you use ‘Copyright Hub’ to get
permission to use images?
3. What are the organisations that you can
contact to gain access to use images legally?
I can use the Copyright Hub to gain permission to use images by allowing you to use
these images on there behalf, they don’t mind you using these as long as you don’t try
and pass the images off as you own.
Other organisations that can help you gain access to using images legally are:
• Getty images .
• The British association of pictures libraries and agencies.
• The British broadcasting association.

3. As you can see I have tried to
find out who the owner of this
image is, I have checked on
the Copyright Hub and they
don’t know who the image is
from.
This means if I was to use this
image, I would have to try and
find other means of contacting
the owner of the image directly.
And asking for permission that
way.
