This document reflects on the author's experience developing a Personal Learning Environment (PLE) to support teaching English through stories. The author achieved her goals of finding digital resources and information about storytelling pedagogy. She realized the importance of a teacher continually developing their PLE to save and share resources. In the future, the author plans to use Symbaloo to create webmixes for different courses and collaborate by sharing resources with other teachers.

2. About this reflection…
In this document I have reflected on how my
process of creating my PLE has been.
I have also evaluated my own process when
developing my PLE and the goals that I wanted to
achieve at the beginning of the course.
Finally I have reflected on what to have an
extended PLE means to a teacher.
3. About me…
During this year I have had the opportunity of being in
touch with different digital tools that had helped me to
create my own PLE.
I have always been familiar with new technologies but, this
year I have learned some different and useful tools.
In my opinion, learning to use these tools offers a teacher
a chance to work more efficiently.
The fact of developing your own PLE makes you able to
save and share different educational resources such as
interesting articles, games or flashcards.
4. About me…
Here you can see some digital tools with which I was familiar before
developing my PLE
PREZI: I have used this tool to create presentations for parents
meetings in my Scout Group. Here you can see an example

VIMEO: I have used this tool to share concert videos of my music
group. https://vimeo.com/46280524
GOEAR: I have used this tool to share some songs that I have
recorded with my scout group colleagues and children

BLOGSPOT : I have use this tool to write some information and
news about my Scout group. http://grimpablog.blogspot.com.es/
5. About me…
My experience using Symbaloo
Symbaloo is a tool that allows you to share and expand your own
knowledge. By adding tiles in your own Symbaloo you can save and
share different teaching resources that you consider interesting.
My experience using Symbaloo has always been positive. I've never had
problems with its operation and since the first moment I understood how
useful it is.
At the beginning of the course in “ Didàctica de la llengua Anglesa” we
opened our own Symbaloo. I added some education web pages and
useful resources to use as an English teacher.
Nowadays I still use my “ Didàctica de la llengua Anglesa” Symbaloo to
get some information and save different resources.

6. Developing my PLE…
At the beggining of the course
When we started the “ Storytelling” subject we
were asked to develop our own PLE in relation with
teaching English through stories. In that moment I
asked myself where I was and where I wanted to
arrive.
7. Developing my PLE…
Starting point
As I have said previously, before starting to develop my own PLE in
Storytelling I already had my own Symbaloo. I also had opened my own
blog to reflect on my process creating my PLE.
http://learningtoteachefl.blogspot.com.es/
Nevertheless I though about which goals I wanted to achieve when
developing my Storytelling Symbaloo. These were my goals:
To search and save digital resources to teach English through stories
To find some information about how to teach English through stories
To share and expand my own knowledge by consulting my
classmates’ Symbaloo.
8. Developing my PLE…
Where I am now
After doing this Storytelling course I have had the
opportunity to reflect on the goals that I wanted to
achieve at the beginning of it.
9. About my goals
In my opinion I have achieved all the goals that I wanted at
the beginning of the course.
I have found some information about how to tell stories and
about the importance of teaching English through stories. I
also had the opportunity of reading articles about the results
of using Storytelling as a way of learning English.
Another important goal that I have achieved is the fact of
finding digital resources that can be useful when telling
stories in class.
Finally I have been checking some resources that I have
found in our class Symbaloo and in my classmates
Symbaloo.
10. About my process creating my
own Storytelling Symbaloo…
Inspite of achieving all my Storytelling Symbaloo goals I can’t
say that my learning process had been continuous.
I have developed my own PLE at the end of the course
In this last semester of our degree we have been asked to do
a huge amount of work. Accordingly I haven’t been able to
take enough time to develop my own PLE.
I think that if I would developed my PLE during all the course
my learning process would have been more significant
11. My Symbaloo in the future
During this year I have been completing my own
PLE. I have had the opportunity to check how
useful it is.
I think that Symbaloo is a useful tool that I am
going to use in the future.
12. Conclusions
During this course I have developed my PLE. I believe that I
have created an extensive PLE in which I can find many
resources to be able to teach English next year
During this time I have realized how important for a teacher is
to develop his/her own PLE.
A teacher can create in his/her Symbaloo different webmixes
for each course and can her or she add interesting resources.
I also believe that is very important the fact of being able to
share Symbaloos. You can compare what other teachers do
in class and take some useful ideas to make your English
lessons better.
