The mismanagement that arises from plastic waste management is fragmentation, lack of transparency, and traceability in the collection-to-processing chain, inadequate support for informal waste workers, and the absence of inclusive employment and basic rights. Notably, 3-4 million individuals rely on scavenging waste from landfills and dumpsites for their livelihoods, facing an unfortunate absence of job security, fair compensation, and dignity. Addressing these issues is paramount to establishing a circular economy and ensuring the sustainability of the plastic waste management ecosystem. THE PROBLEM ReCircle is a CleanTech waste management organisation that works to prevent valuable resources from ending up in landfills and oceans. We do this by partnering with government bodies, brands, and the informal waste sector. We enable businesses to take action to stop plastic pollution & meet Sustainable Development Goals by supporting with multiple of our services including our Technology platform, ClimaOne that connects all these stakeholders. COMPANY OVERVIEW – PRODUCTS AND SERVICES Our business model is inclusive and asset-light and is committed to ethical circularity. We enlist the help of local waste collectors across India to formalise their operations. The collected waste undergoes recycling and is monitored using advanced technology. Subsequently, the recycled material is transformed into plastic credits, which are sold to businesses. A part of the revenue generated from the sales of plastic credits is then passed on to the waste workers to provide them with better incomes. Alongside this, we formalise the sector by providing dignified working conditions, access to social security, and government schemes. BUSINESS MODEL AND REVENUE MODEL • In 2023 we have signed a Shareholder Agreement with Investors namely - Acumen Inc, 3i Partners and Flipkart. This is pre Series A Bridge Round. • Before 2023 the company has largely been bootstrapped with funding from Founders and one High Networth Investor. Rethink FINANCIALS – HISTORIC AND PROJECTIONS Established: 2015 Head office: Mumbai Sector: CleanTech/Waste Management Business Model: B2B Extended Producer Responsibility Services: We help Producers, Importers, and brand Owners manage their EPR compliances by selling plastic credits. Plastic Neutral Program Services: Our plastic neutral program offers services to micro, small & medium-sized businesses aiming to offset their plastic footprint voluntarily. Trading of Scrap Materials: We actively engage in the trading of scrap materials. The sale of these materials forms a significant part of our revenue. Material Recovery Facility (MRF): We own and operate our own MRF, collecting and segregating dry waste. This not only aids in waste management but also generates income by selling segregated materials. Zero Waste Events and Collections Drives: We organise zero waste events and collection drives in Mumbai, which serve as another source of revenue for us. KEY PROJECTS With over 7+ years of experience, our projects have diverted 105,000+ MT of waste from oceans and landfills all the while allowing us to impact the lives of 3,100+ Safaai Sathis present in over 270+ cities across India. IMPACT We have been cash flow positive for the last 4 years with a ~10% EBITDA and a 100% growth YoY. Revenues are expected to grow mainly on account of the following drivers of growth- ● Strong growth expected in EPR business as the company has several new clients on board and existing clients are expected to increase our revenue share and business substantially. ● Developing and selling ethically recycled plastic products including recycled plastic granules, flakes, shirts and pants, bags and pellets. ● Growing and expanding the non-plastic recycled business including glass, textile etc ● Setting up a pilot recycling unit for plastic waste
