3. INTRODUCTION
When a computer with the ability to mimic or
duplicate the functions of the human brain.
When Computers or a robot solves a problem or
uses language, it may seem to be intelligent.
However, this type of intelligence is different
from human intelligence. It is called artificial
intelligence, or AI.
4. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
SYSYTEM
The branch of computer science concerned with making
computers behave like humans. The term was coined in
1956 by John McCarthy at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology.
5. WHAT IS AN INTELLIGENT
MACHINE?
A memory or a space where
experiences or information can
be stored, a method of applying
these experiences to new ones,
comparing experiences to come
to logical conclusions, like
holding the hot object with a
glove on. That would be an
intelligent machine.
What do we need to make
an intelligent machine ?
7. APPLICATIONS IN DAILY LIFE
PLAYING GAMES: Programming computers to play
games such as chess and checkers .
EXPERT SYSTEMS : Programming computers to
make decisions in real-life situations (for example,
some expert systems help doctors diagnose diseases
based on symptoms) .
NATURAL LANGUAGE : Programming computers to
understand natural human languages .
NEURAL NETWORKS : Systems that simulate
intelligence by attempting to reproduce the types of
physical connections that occur in animal brains .
ROBOTICS : programming computers to see and hear
and react to other sensory stimuli .

9. Artificial intelligence is complex in nature.
It uses very complicated mixture of
computer science, mathematics, and other
complex sciences. Complex programming
helps these machines replicate the cognitive
abilities of human beings-
Error reduction
Difficult exploration
Repetitive jobs
Medical applications
Maximum efficiency
User friendly
Time consuming
ADVANTAGES
10. DISADVANTAGES
High cost
No replicating humans
No improvement with experiences
No original creativity
Unemployment
High maintenance cost
Lack of creative mind
Abilities of human may diminish
Wrong hand may cause destruction
May enslave humans
11. ALPHAGO- AlphaGo is able to master the game by learning on millions of
training samples from real games. It can beat humans also.
SWARM- It is a real-time online tool that brings people together to make a group
decision. It is a expert in prediction.
MICROSOFT’S AI- Its system used recurrent neural networks, trained on 2,000
hours of data, to achieve this victory. It can now understand speech better than
humans.
IN CANCER DIAGNOSIS- 30 times faster than humans and had a 99% accuracy
in interpreting diagnostic information found in patient charts.
SOPHIA-Sophia is a humanoid robot developed by Hong- Kong based
company Hanson Robotics. It has been designed to respond to questions, and has
been interviewed around the world. In October 2017, the robot became a Saudi
Arabian citizen, the first robot to receive citizenship of any country.
