The FF1 Head-up freeflying qualification for skydivers in New Zealand. Check out how you can start learning to sitfly and things you need to learn to be checked off to jump in groups. Let's fly!

1. Freefly Crest:
Headup Progression

2. Step 01: Two compulsory backfly
jumps

3. Jump 01: Check your Alti and get to your belly safely to pull
Jump 02: Not spinning, altitude aware, neutral and hold a rough heading

4. Step 02: First sitfly jump

5. Exit: Train or sit position off the door
Aim: Hold a good body position or recover correctly
Must have: Altitude awareness to move on

6. Step 03: Practice Body Position
Practice your position on solos (turning off jump run) until you can hold
the position for half a skydive.

7. Step 04: Introduce Turns

8. Step 05: Transitions
Cartwheels: Left or right flip.
The point is to get unstable and get
back to a neutral body position.

9. Forward flips: Recover back to
neutral sit
Other things: The point is to
remain stable and/or recover –
other good exercises are clapping
your hands, putting your hand on
your hips or flying cross-legged!

10. Step 06: Forward and Back

12. Step 07: Slow Fall, Fast Fall

13. Step 08: Intro to Docks

14. Level: Fly on level
Slot: Move forward into proximity
Dock: Take the dock

15. Headup Crest Console Jump
This means you are qualified to safely jump with other people (who also
have their Headup Crest) for sitfly jumps. Let the fun begin!
1. Get out of the door on heading
2. 360 turn each way
3. Alti check
4. A transition (cartwheel or front loop) back to sit
5. Demonstrate a stand
6. Do a stand turn
7. Safely go to back then track off
