Publish Your App/Game

  2. 2. Open Developer Account > Certificate, Windows Store > Store Graphics, Package > Publish! Windows Phone, Alt Tools
  3. 3. Tools & Technologies
  4. 4. Open Developer Account
  5. 5. Sign up for a developer account on: http://dev.windows.com 1. Click “Get Started” 2. Click “Sign up”
  6. 6. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your developer account
  7. 7. Create Certificate
  8. 8. Open your solution in Visual Studio NOTE: This example shows Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows, running on Windows 8.1
  9. 9. Open the file “package.appxmanifest”
  10. 10. Click on Packaging tab
  11. 11. Click on Choose Certificate
  12. 12. Select “Create test Certificate…” Click “OK”
  13. 13. Click “OK”
  14. 14. Click “Play” button to run it NOTE: This step assumes that you’re running Windows 8.1
  15. 15. Associate with Windows Store
  16. 16. Log in with your dev account
  17. 17. Right-click project, … then select Store
  18. 18. Associate App with the Store…
  19. 19. Click Next to Log In then associate your app with the Windows Store
  20. 20. Select an existing App Name - OR - Reserve a new app name, then select it
  21. 21. Click “Associate”

  24. 24. Click “OK”
  25. 25. Copy Screenshots in the Simulator
  26. 26. Verify the screenshots in your “Pictures” folder, “Windows Simulator” subfolder
  27. 27. Identify placeholder images
  28. 28. Edit or replace these images with your own
  29. 29. Create and Certify Package
  30. 30. Create App Packages…
  31. 31. Click “Next” to Proceed (log in if necessary)
  32. 32. … then, click “Next” Select an existing App Name
  33. 33. … then, click “Create” Observe the AppPackages location
  34. 34. Launch Windows App Certification Kit
  35. 35. Allow the tool to gather info
  36. 36. Verify that all tests are selected
  37. 37. Verify that all tests are selected … then, click “Next”
  38. 38. Allow the tool to run validation
  39. 39. If the Overall Result says FAILED, view the results to fix issues Click “Finish” NOTE: Repeat these steps after fixing issues, to submit your app.
  40. 40. If the Overall Result says PASSED, you can proceed Click “Finish”

  42. 42. … click “Edit” for your App In the Dashboard of the Windows Dev Center…
  43. 43. Follow the instructions to fill out the remaining information about your app
  44. 44. Once all the information has been entered, and the package has been uploaded... … the “Submit for certification” button will be enabled for you to click on

  46. 46. Right-click your WP8 package file, view code
  47. 47. Manually add a Publisher value to <Identity> section, Prefixed by “CN=“ e.g. “CN=MyGameStudio” NOTE: this is a workaround for a bug that may cause Publisher to be missing.
  48. 48. Right-click the Windows Phone project, … then click “Set as StartUp Project”
  49. 49. Click the “Play” button to run your app in the WP8 Emulator
  50. 50. Perform additional steps, similar to Windows 8 publishing: • Associate App with the Store • Create App Packages… Associate App with the Store Create App Packages…
  51. 51. Go to the Dashboard on http://dev.windowsphone.com to submit your app
  52. 52. Follow the instructions to fill out the remaining information about your app
