Acts 2:1-2 (NKJV) 1
When the Day of Pentecost had
fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place. 2
And suddenly there came a sound from
heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the
whole house where they were sitting.
The message version of verse 3 says

Then, like a wildfire,
the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks,…

A FEW months ago myself, Lady Vernon along with
our talented team members took on the task to be
tenacious in our 2017 preparation which influenced
the theme of tonight’s celebration. While in Fort
Lauderdale Florida at a hotel positioned next to
beautiful water the lord predestined next year’s
theme to come out of the mouth one of my most
loyal daughter……… (Work Danyell)
Pastoring so many young people of color, each year
I feel the necessity give you the historicity or the
historic actuality of this annual New Year’s Eve
gathering.
“Watch Night Service” in the Black Church in
America symbolizes the historical fact, that on the
night of Dec. 31, 1862 during the Civil War, free and
freed blacks living in the Union States gathered at
churches and/or other safe spaces, while thousands
of their enslaved black sisters and brothers stood,
knelt and prayed on plantations and other slave

holding sites in America — waiting for President
Abraham Lincoln to sign the Emancipation
Proclamation into law. The Emancipation
Proclamation legally recognized that the Civil War
was fought for slavery. We had been dehumanized
and told that were 3/5ths of a person, whatever
that is! We had been given a false Anthropology,
and someone has truthfully said that a false
Anthropology leads to a schizophrenic psychology.

When the day of
Pentecost had come, they were all together in one
place.
The day of Pentecost was an annual feast that
followed the Feast of First fruits by a week of weeks
(i.e., seven weeks, or 49 days) and therefore also
was called the Feast of Weeks. The name
"Pentecost," of Greek derivation, means 50 because
it was the 50th day after the Firstfruits feast.

So God in His sovereignty decided that Pentecost
was the perfect day to re-reveal himself in the form
of the Holy Spirit!
And maybe I’m missing but I have sneaky suspicion
that at least 13 of you more than you want any kind
of creature comfort, would love for God to re-reveal
himself to you in a fresh way tonight.

And suddenly

Some of you know that often in the bible there is
Sound before sight!

1 Kings 18:43-44 (NLT) 43
Then he said to his
servant, “Go and look out toward the sea.” The
servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah
and said, “I didn’t see anything.” Seven times Elijah
told him to go and look. 44
Finally the seventh time,
his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the
size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then
Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb
into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t
hurry, the rain will stop you!’”
Pastor why are you so excited about 2017. Because
I hear something! Stop getting frustrated with
people who don’t see what you hear! You keep
saying you hear something, but when they look at
you they don’t see nothing. Because they don’t see
nothing, they think you are spiritually frontin! The
reason they don’t see nothing is because they’re
looking on the outside, but that’s not where the
work began, it began on the inside,

Philippians 1:6 (NASB) 6
For I am confident of this
very thing, that He who began a good work in you
will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Here it is everybody!

movement called Moral Monday in North Carolina
where concerned citizens who truly embrace what
the prophet Micah said in
Micah 6:8 …..And what does the LORD require of
you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk
humbly with your God?
They gather each Monday to voice their
concerns against a political system filled with
cupidity and a kind of Mendacity. Tells the story
of his grandmother
