ELIGIBILITY • Be a resident of Nebraska • Graduate from a Nebraska high school or earn a Nebraska GED • Earn at least a 2.5 cumulative unweighted GPA in high school (or 83 on a 100 point scale) • Be a first-time freshman when entering college (students with dual enrollment credits are eligible) • Plan to enroll in a Nebraska public institution • Be in need of financial assistance
- 4. FINANCIAL ELIGIBILITY • Students with an EFC below $10,000 • Students determine their EFC by completing the 2019-2020 FAFSA and checking their Student Aid Report • EFC can also be determined by completing the 2019-2020 College Funding Estimator from EducationQuest • Students do not need to be Pell Grant eligible
- 6. APPLICATION • Application forms • 2 recommendations (on-line template) • Student Aid Report from FAFSA • College Funding Estimator for students ineligible for federal aid • Transcript • Essay • Consent form • must sign consent to release and click “agree and submit” Requirements

- 9. Please compose an essay (1000-1500 words) that helps us understand more about you and your life. It is important that you address all of the following questions/topics throughout the essay: 1. Tell us about two or three of your most meaningful accomplishments or times when you were proud of yourself (academic, personal/family, work, or other activities). Why are these meaningful? How do these accomplishments/experiences relate to your future goals? 2. What is something you are passionate about? How do you share that passion with others? How does this passion show up in your life? 3. How are you involved in giving back to others and/or the community? What does giving back mean to you? 4. Tell us about a challenge or obstacle you have faced. What did you learn? How does this challenge or obstacle still impact you? 5. Is there anything else you would like for us to know about you? - 11. RECOMMENDATION PROMPTS 1. Please speak to the student’s motivation/passion and work ethic.2. Discuss any challenges the student has overcome and any meaningful accomplishments (Examples can be work, personal, school, or other activities).3.
