Editor's Notes
First and foremost, thank you for the opportunity to give you this short presentation on responsive mobile design for 800 Charity Cars. Diving right in, we feel that 800 Charity Cars could greatly benefit from a fully responsive, mobile friendly web design. But before we get to the details of such a design, lets explore a brief history of your organization, your current web site, and how the changes in mobile technology WILL impact your business.
As an industry leader an originator in the automotive donation charity space, 800 Charity Cars should adopt a “lead not follow” approach to your web site and the use of mobile technology. Currently as you are well aware, your web site is NOT mobile friendly and can be difficult and cumbersome to use. But why does that matter?
It matters because mobile is exploding. It’s not a trend or fad, it’s not going to go away or become less popular. The change is how we engage the Internet means that the typical user visiting your web site won’t come from a traditional desktop computer but from a tablet, smart phone or mobile computing device. Given this change, its extremely important to provide a mobile friendly design to those visitors in order to continue to convert traffic and gain prospects.
But don’t just take our words for it, we solicited unbiased opinions to review your web site from a mobile device. As such, we received feedback from twelve reviewers, eight of those twelve agreed that 800 Charity Cars is anything but mobile friendly. With the ever growing increase in mobile users, these negative opinions will unfortunately also increase. But again, why does this matter?
The momentum of mobile has changed web design forever. From a visitor standpoint, mobile layouts needs to be streamlined to provide the key points to a visitor in a more consumable manner. After all, mobile connections are typically slower than wired desktops, so slower speeds coupled with short attention spans, drives a need to create web sites were content is mobile friendly. Without these adjustments, web sites like 800charitycars.com will see a steady decline in conversions as users move further way from the desktop.
Until recently, many pioneers who sought to meet the needs of mobile users had to craft different versions of their web sites to meet the needs of multiple platforms, devices, and browsers. With responsive design, organizations can no benefit from a design that reacts or “responds” to different user and the dozens if not hundreds of devices, operating systems and browsers available. This adoption gives marketers and site owners the ability to meet the needs of their visitors and help avoid unwanted bouncing or failed conversions.
Assuming you’ll take our advice and begin the process of converting 800-Charity-Cars into a mobile friendly site, you’ll need to first work with our copywriters and design staff to identify your core focus. By this, we want to know the three to four primary goals of your site and craft a design that assist you in reaching your goals.
We again thank you for the opportunity to present you with this presentation and look forward to assisting you with your web site design and development needs.
