Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

This video by Simplilearn will explain to you Introduction to C Programming Language. Introduction to C Programming Language Tutorial For Beginners will explain to you the C language's history, C's importance, its features, real-world applications, and some of its advantages and disadvantages.
00:00 Introduction to C
1:42-History of C language
Dennis Ritchie, a computer scientist, could identify the gaps and tap out the best features from both B and BCPL languages to invent a new hybrid.
Hence, C was born in 1972 at Bell Laboratories. A remarkably simple and highly readable programming language resulted in groundbreaking advancements in the IT industry.
2:48-Importance and unraveling the powerful capabilities of C,
The widespread use of C started to take over the IT industry. Unraveling the potential of C, the designers began to discover new possibilities that led them to focus on the big picture.
3:56-C's cutting-edge features
The designers at Bell Laboratories ensured that their programming language solved the issues with B and BCPL and the ones they had foreseen.

✅What is C++ Programming?
C++ is an enhanced and extended version of C programming language, developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in 1979 as part of his Ph.D. project. Bjarne developed what he called ‘C with Classes’ (later renamed C++) because he felt limited by the existing programming languages that were not ideal for large scale projects. He used C to build what he wanted because C was already a general-purpose language that was efficient and fast in its operations.
✅C++ Career Prospects:
With just C++ programming expertise, you will have excellent job opportunities, salaries, and career prospects. However, for a career based on programming languages such as Java and Python (which are in more demand than C++) or for careers based on front-end, back-end, and full-stack
2. Various digital interface standards make use of one or several coaxial
cables with BNC connectors having a nominal impedance of 75
ohms. This type of cable is used in analog video setups that allow
easier upgrading. For long transfer, high-quality cables are used that
also offer higher bitrates. The specified signal amplitude at the
source is 800 mV (±10%) peak-to-peak. Moreover, lower voltages
can be measured at the receiver due to attenuation. By means of
using equalization at the receiver, it is feasible to transmit 270 Mbit/s
SDI over a range of 300 meters without requiring repeaters. When
the interface is converted to fiber and transmit single fibers, the
maximum distance of 80 kilometers can be achieved. However, for
shorter distances, SDI over fiber is preferred.

3. There are the various bit rates used in different SDI extension networks:
Standard Definition – As defined by SMPTE 259M, the feasible bit rates
are 143 Mbit/s, 177 Mbit/s, 270 Mbit/s, and 360 Mbit/s. Out of these
four bit rates, 270 Mbit/s is the one typically used. While 360 Mbit/s is
used for providing a widescreen standard definition, 143 Mbit/s and 177
Mbit/s are obsolete bitrates used for transmitting composite-encoded
video, i.e. NTSC and PAL. Enhanced Definition – Used rarely, several 540
Mbit/s interfaces are defined for enhanced designation applications. It
also supports an interface standard for a dual-link 270 Mbit/s interface.
HDTV – The serial digital interface is defined by SMPTE 292M. In
addition to these, SMPTE 372M standard and SMPTE 424M standard
provides very-high definition applications and nominal 3 Gbit/s interface
respectively.

4. SMPTE 297-2006 is an optical fiber system for transmitting bit-
serial digital signals. It is capable of providing a number of SMPTE
signals, including SMPTE ST 259, SMPTE ST 344, SMPTE ST 292,
and SMPTE ST 424. In addition to optical specification, ST 297
mandates laser safety testing and all optical interfaces are labeled
to indicate safety compliance, interoperability, and application.
ITU-R Rec. 601 is an 8-bit parallel digital interface, though mostly
obsolete. An SDI extender can be used to transmit SDI, HD-SDI,
and 3G SDI over distances as much as 10 kilometers. It uses
standard, single-mode fiber optic cable with LC connectors.
