2. There is a relationship between the lyrics and
visuals, with the visuals illustrating, amplifying or
contradicting the lyrics.
For the first 5 points I will be using Andrew Goodwin's analysis to help me in
answering the questions. Andrew Goodwin states that in a music video
there should be relationship between the lyrics ad visuals. In our music
video there a direct link between the lyrics and the visuals. The lyric is
when one friends is talking to another about finding girls and be
introduced to them. This is then shown in our music video through a
conversation on a chat log. Our music video is showing two boys looking
for a girl to date, during the video different images of different girl pop up
with the lyrics. So for example, the lyric ‘Sarah’s in to S ‘n’ M’ this picture
pops up on the screen. As well as this the line ‘Suzey cant keep her mouth
shut’ this picture is shown

3. There is a relationship between the music and
visuals, with the visual illustrating, amplifying or
contradicting the lyrics
In our music video there are a range of different
points where there is a relationship between the
music and visuals. One part is when on the
camera zooms in on one of the main characters
on the beat of the music. As the zooming in is in
time with the beat it is amplifying the music but
it is also building up some tension as to what the
character may say or do next.

4. Record companies will demand a lot of close-ups of
their star/performers.
In our music video we took a lot of different close
ups of our performers. Having a range of different
close up shots help to add variety to the video to
keep it interesting. Throughout the video the
close ups helps promote the performer as the
views are forced to look at them and not anything
else.

5. Voyeurism
During the video there is a lot of voyeurism throughout
the video. Firstly you are in a teen boys bedroom and
are directly reading his private facebook messages
and following him looking at others photos, this
shows that you are able to log in to facebook and
look at anyone's profile pictures, even people you
don't know.

6. There are likely to be intertextual references to other
music videos, TV shows, books, movies, games etc.
Our digipak uses a few different intertexutal
references. The first one is the fireball which we
created for the disc tray, this was taken from the
game ‘street fighter.’ We decided to add this to
the digipak because the band is named after a
move from the game and it also adds a comic
value. We made the fire ball look more pixelated
to make it look like it is in the video game.

7. There are likely to be intertextual references to other
music videos, TV shows, books, movies, games etc.
Our digipak shows the performer mike
in the middle of five girls who are all
looking in different directions and mike
also looking in these directions. Above
our digipak is a queen album cover,
this is a cover which we got some of
our ideas from.
