Associated responsibilities included:

As Director - Ensured delivery of Chapter emergency services, planning and
preparedness programs: Directed activities of three Assistant Directors, one Associate
Director and nine volunteer staff; successfully worked with County, local government and
other program entities to develop and implement preparedness, community disaster
education and response capabilities; public speaker and seminar leader; represented
department and Chapter at media events; supervised major operational responses;
supported volunteer response, administrative and training activities; developed
marketing and public affairs programs; created Chapter H5N1 pandemic response
committee and program; produced the annual Red Cross Westchester County
Emergency Planning and Preparedness Seminar / Conference.

As Chairman - Responsible for the administrative and operational supervision of 500
active and 1,500 reserve volunteers; coordination of all service delivery (Mass Care,
Shelter, Mental Health, Physical Health, Logistics, Training and Communications)
function leads; joint supervisory responsibility for operational responses; liaison to
assure effective staff support of volunteer activities; originated, developed and executed
the largest and most comprehensive Chapter emergency response exercise (125
responders); successfully developed and executed planning, preparedness, and
response programs and activities; associate site supervisor for Chapter 9/11 response
activities; represented department interests as a member of the Chapters’ Board of
Directors.

Operational training - 31 ARC response courses; NYSMO, FEMA and ODP training
includes: Exercise Design, Radiological Emergency Preparedness, Mass Fatalities
Incident Response, Emergency Response to Domestic Biological Incidents, Hurricane,
Radiological preparedness and NOAA meteorological courses. Numerous emergency
management courses, drills, full-scale exercises, tabletops and seminars.

Incident Management / Unified Command, ICS 100, 200, 300,700 & 800. DHS HSEEP
training, County and State EOC liaison. Specialization in WMD -T consequence
management / Clara Barton Institute graduate (Pine Bluff Arsenal).
