PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Emergency Management Coordinator for two Prime Healthcare Emergency Hospitals responsible for all
aspects of their emergency preparedness programs. Responsibilities and duties include performing an annual
Hazard Vulnerability Analysis and updating the facilities’ Emergency Operations Plans implementing proper
procedures in response to natural disasters, coordinate meetings or exercises with emergency response
managers from local hospitals and officials from various regional county and local governments. All is
accomplished according to the current vulnerabilities, identifying training needs and conducting the training,
developing and conducting drills and exercise, advising hospital leadership on emergency response procedures
during actual events, coordinating with Federal, State, jurisdiction organizations such as fire, police, and EMS
for emergency responses and support, and working with other community organizations to educate
community members on emergency preparedness. Additional responsibilities include ensuring that all
elements of performance for each Joint Commission Standard and Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program
in the Emergency Management chapter are met assisting the hospitals to receive their Accreditation. I also
assisted with Environment of Care rounds, information tracking, fire drills, and education.
KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledgeable in the theories and principles of all aspects of emergency management programs with
the ability to apply these principles and theories across all four phases enhancing mitigation,
preparedness, response, and recovery operations.
• Extensive knowledge in strategic planning and coordinating comprehensive emergency management
program activities, reports, surveys, and written proposals as well as plans, policies, procedures,
including concept of operations for specific hazards, relocation of patient plans, and various emergency
operation plans
• Knowledgeable and experienced in the planning and execution of medical exercises involving multiple
jurisdictions
SKILLS
• Skilled in budget development and implementation for multiple organizations simultaneously.
• Skilled in regulatory guidance interpretation.
• Skilled in system security operations and assignment of user codes and security levels in
coordination with information services
• Skilled in customer service procedures consistent with organization mission and mission toward

• Ability to work with leaders at different levels and multiple organizations to accomplish a common goal.

• Poses the ability to conduct assessments of current preparedness levels, in compliance with elements
of performance standards and accreditation requirements independently or with other Region
coordinators, including staff from headquarters, and local government reviewing EOP.
• Able to conduct formal training and certifications enhancing staff capabilities and career progression.
• Ability to quickly and efficiently respond to all forms of disasters and emergencies at any hour.
• Able to effectively represent organization/employer at multiple jurisdictional levels in meetings,
conferences, and workshops.

Chair – Emergency Preparedness Committee for two separate Prime Healthcare Emergency Hospitals,
responsible for the development and oversight of the Emergency Preparedness Program ensuring the
planning, training, and implementation of activities that address all four phases of disaster are completed for
both facilities. Additionally, this committee ensures that all standards of the Emergency Management chapter
of the Joint Commission manual are met.
Chair – Regional Communications Drill Planning Committee responsible for the coordination, planning and
execution of a four regional communications drills a year between the Los Angeles Police Departments and
Fire Departments, Los Angeles County EMS agencies, regional hospitals and clinics, and local HAM Radio
operators. The purpose of this drill is to test communication redundancy between all partnering agencies
responsible for disaster response.
Co-Chair – Corporate Emergency Management Coordinators (EMC) Committee responsible for bringing the
Emergency Management Coordinators of all Prime Healthcare Emergency Hospitals in California together
once a quarter to discuss best practices, after action reports, strategies for improving the preparedness of the
system’s hospitals, assisting new EM Coordinators, and other such activities. I was responsible for the
concept and development of the Corporate Emergency Management Coordinator Committee.
Co-Chair - Environment of Care (EOC) Committee for two separate Prime Healthcare Emergency Hospitals,
responsible for ensuring that the areas of responsibility set forth in the Joint Commission Standards, Safety,
Security, Fire Safety, Medical Equipment, Utility Systems, Hazardous Materials, are met. This committee uses
various tools and assigns individuals the responsibility to ensure certain elements of performance are met.
