4.  This summer (2011), the program will take place in
Genova, Italy from June 4-29 over a 4-week period.
 Students enroll in ITAL 30123 (19th Century Italian Lit)
or ENGL 30123 (British Lit since 1800): summer 2012
courses offered at TCU. These courses are 3 credits.
 Students may also enroll in 3 credits of Italian
language at their individual level, to be completed at
the Study in Italy center.

5.  Sadly, it’s somewhat expensive. 3 or 6 credits at
$1125each for tuition is not cheap. Add to that the
program fee of $3295 [$4810 with language study]
(which covers housing; hotel and travel to Rome,
Florence, and Venice; and a couple meals), air fare,
local transportation, most meals, and spending
money…and you may have to be very kind to your
parents for quite a while.
 However…

6.  You can apply your summer financial aid (FAFSA) to a
study abroad program through the TCU Scholarship
and Financial Aid office, Sadler 2008. Deadline for
submissions is December 12.
 There are merit-based scholarships available through
the Study Abroad Office (214 Reed Hall) online:
www.studyabroad.tcu.edu/. Applications for
scholarships are available on November 15 and due on
December 12.
 You should find out in late January if you got a
scholarship before you need to pay the application fee.

7.  It’s not a tourist city! You will interact with Italians in
Italian.
 It’s close to many other cities and attractions: Milano,
Torino, Venezia, Bologna, eccetera.
 It’s a safe city.
 It’s where pesto was born.
