Our journey started 55 years ago under the able leadership and guidance of our
Chairman Emeritus, Shri Anoop Chand Jain and is now poised for a big play
going forward. ‘India is Happening’ and so would we.

5. Mr Mahendra Singh
Mr Singh graduated in Mining Engineering from Indian School of Mines in
1967 and, after acquiring First Class Mine Manager’s of competency, he
started his career in Indian coal mines. Subsequently, he moved to metal
mines of Bhilai Steel plant of SAIL and worked there in senior management
positions. Later, He enrolled himself in Ashorne Hill Management College ,
London and earned his MBA from there.
Since 1995, Mr Singh started working with the world’s biggest steel maker,
ArcelorMittal SA, London and continued working with them, until
December 2014. During his tenure with ArcelorMittal, Mr Singh worked as
Corporate Director/ CEO mining, specializing in Merger & Acquisitions.
Mr Singh is responsible for developing the Mining Vertical of the Group
and extensively worked towards Acquisition of mines in multiple locations,
worldwide, mine reorganization, financial remodelling, initiating the
sharing of insights and operational techniques, across.
6. Mr Ramendra Gupta
B.Sc (Hons), Ex-MD of Kolar Gold Fields & Ex-Chairman & MD of Uranium Corporation of India Limited
with 40 years experience)
Under the leadership of Sri Gupta, the uranium mining industry of India has undergone massive expansion
with several new mines and process plants set up during last one decade in Jharkhand and Andhra
Pradesh.With this uranium production of the country
has increased multifold.
Shri Gupta is a member of Mining, Geological and Metallurgical Institute of India
(MGMI), Indian Nuclear Society (INS) and fellow of Indian Geophysical Union. Shri
Gupta has presented a number of technical papers in national as well as international
conferences.
Shri Gupta is the recipient of “National Design Award in Mining Engineering –
1999” for his “Outstanding contribution in the field of Engineering design” from
Institution of Engineers (India). Recognizing the valuable contributions of Sri Gupta,
MGMI, Kolkata has awarded him the prestigious “John Dunn Medal for 2000-2001”.
Indian Nuclear Society has conferred Shri Gupta with prestigious INS Award – 2006
for his outstanding contribution in the field of Nuclear Fuel Cycle Technologies. Indian
School of Mines, Dhanbad has conferred its most coveted Distinguished Alumnus
Award-2007 to Sri Gupta. Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India, recognising Sri Gupta as a
specialist in deep mining technology and impressive contributions to underground metal
mining industry has conferred on him the celebrated National Mineral Award-2007.
Indian Nuclear Society has also conferred him the Life Time Achievement Award
2012 for his achievement in Research and Development of Technology in maintenance of safety and
spreading education in Nuclear Science and Technology.
7. Mr Sanjeev Ahuja
(CA -Merit Holder, CWA with 20 years experience)

Through a major part of his career, as in-charge of Corporate Strategy,
he’s got the flavor of working with Promoters & Owners at the top level
creating and sharing the bigger picture & the road map for growth &
diversification for all the stakeholders. The art of striking the ever elusive
‘Balance’ between Macro and Micro has been learnt on the ground.
He has been associated with organizations including Maruti, Apollo,
E&Y, Booz Allen, Arvind Mills, DS Group and Coastal Projects.
Functionally, he has had a good taste of Treasury / Corporate Finance,
Business Development, BPR, Joint Ventures and Merger Acquisitions,
Project Management, Troubleshooting, Relationships Management and
Business Planning & Strategy. He has had a good mix of Global / Multi
Cultural exposure through his career which included a stint in Middle
East as well.

The JV is formed with M/s Sical Logistics Limited for upcoming future
tenders of subsidiary of M/s Coal India Ltd and other foreign projects.
17. Future Opportunities- Mining
Mining tenders worth between 10,000 Crs are expected by various
subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd in the next 5 years. Coal India is expected to
increase the production from 5 million tones to 1 billion tones as per the
announcement of the government.
Apart from tenders of Coal India Ltd. tenders by independent coal block
owners will be floated after the coal block auction and these tenders are
expected to be for 10-15 years.
Excavation & Stone-mining ( part of infrastructure) opportunities in North-
Eastern India is expected to come up in a big way, and having vast
experience in North East, SML shall have the advantage.
