The document discusses the processes of selection and placement in hiring. It defines selection as choosing the best candidates for a role, while placement involves assigning selected individuals to specific jobs and onboarding them. Placement considers various factors like diversity hiring, employee career development, and matching individuals' unique profiles and skills to optimal job families and positions. The process involves collecting candidate details, constructing profiles, assigning them to matching subgroups and job families, and providing a specific job role. Induction then familiarizes new hires with their job and organization through orientation activities covering topics like benefits, policies, IBM products and culture.
