2. FILM SYNOPSIS
During a raid, the police capture a 16-year-old
orphan boy who’s been raised by a gang of drug
addicts and dealers. An old police detective, whose
wife and son have recently died, adopts the
troubled boy. A father-son relationship develops.
5. EVALUATING CHANGES
TO VERSION ONE
Changes to version one of the script were made
in order to make the story more logical and simple. The
Dialoge between Chen and Marko was moved outside
the school and was made longer so that it feels more
natural and relaxed. Chen’s easygoing mood was stressed
by his dancing in the hallway; it is contrasted later by his
dire circumstances. The last scene was made shorter, to
give a misterious atmosphere to the changes that might
have happened in Chen’s life.
7. PRE-PRODUCTION
This production is done on a limited budget, as a part of
a school project. Therefore, most of pre-production roles
are taken by the director of the short film. Photography
and editing equipment is provided by the school. The
director has broken down the script, assembled the
team, scouted the locations and organized a filmming
schedule.
8. LOCATION SEARCH
Location: Street
This road (left) is too lifeless,
modern and busy. A location with a
realistic neighbourhood atmosphere
(right) would suit the story better.
