Beaches are not just a long stretch
of yellow or white sand layer dotting
the coastline . It is a nature’s gift
with Glittering Sea, Roaring and
Curving waves and cool breeze. It is a
package of nature for human pleasure.
Some of them are sun tanning beaches ,
some more are water sport adventure
spots, many are cooling off sites on a
hot and sultry weather. There is no
need for Season or reason to go to
beach. Age and denomination is no bar
here. Tamil Nadu has a 1076 km coast
line and it is the second largest coast
line from Chennai on the Coromandel

MARINA BEACH
It is 60 Km south of Chennai City. Mamallapuram beach is a 20 km long
stretch . This was originally a Pallav Dynasty’s Port. This beach is
visited by millions of tourists throughout the year. Again it is a
paradise for the younger generation too. It is known especially for
its Temples in the form of Chariots called rathas, mandapams (cave
sanctuaries), huge open-air reliefs and the temple of Rivage. long and
beautiful sea shore attracts millions of tourist throughout the
year. Mahabalipuram was included in the World Heritage Monuments
list of 1984 by UNESCO. Mamallapuram Dance Festival during December -
January attracts Exponents of Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali,

MAMALLAPURAM BEACH
Many call it KOODAL meaning it is the Confluence of three
oceans Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. Kanyakumari
shore is popular world - wide, because it is the only places on
earth, where you can see the Sun Rise and Sun Set from the ocean.
It is the only place in India where one can enjoy the unique
spectacle of Sunset and Moonrise simultaneously on full moon days.
It is even more special and spectacular on Chitra Paurnami [full
moon that occurs in Apr-May] when one can view both the sun and the
moon facing each other on the same horizon, a rare sight of unique
grandeur, which seems to happen by prior arrangement.

The Mudumalai National Park, one of the first forest ranges to be declared as a National Park
is located in the Nilgiri district in the border of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The park is
located in the Ooty-Mysore route and can be entered from both Ooty and Mysore. The National
park was recently declared a Tiger Reserve with a population of about 50 tigers.
Mudumalai National Park is one of the most critical ecological systems in the country, with
Bandipur National Park and Nagarhole National Park to the north and the Wayand wildlife
sanctuary to the south and between them they house more than 500 species of animals, birds,
reptiles and even more species of insects. Needless to say the place is breathtaking and
captivating for anyone who appreciates nature.
MUDUMALAI NATIONAL PARK AND WILDLIFE SANCTUA
It is not a coincidence that the picturesque attraction of Gulf of Mannar Marine
National Park ensconced within the larger Gulf of Mannar biosphere reserve in Tamil
Nadu. Spread across an area of 560 sq km and located in the Coromandel Coast region,
the national park consists of 21 islets enclosed by coral reef areas and the shallow
underwater habitat of marine biodiversity. The protected area has a high diversity
of aquatic animals and plants. For tourists, glass bottom boats are available in
order to explore this beauty attraction in Tamil Nadu. Also, the national park is
counted amongst the richest areas in terms of marine biodiversity and is blessed

VELLORE
Vellore is located on the banks of the Palar River in the
northeastern part of Tamil Nadu and is separated into four
zones that are further subdivided into 60 wards. It is located
about 137.20 km (85 mi) west of Chennai, and about 213.20 km
(132 mi) east of Bangalore. According to a legend, many babul
trees (known locally as velan trees) surrounded this region,
which led to the name "Vellore“. Vellore is also known as the
Second Madras because of its importance and location relative
to Chennai .
Vellore Fort is important to Vellore's history. Due to a lack
of historical records, it is not known exactly when the fort
was constructed, but estimates based on stone inscriptions
suggests that the fort was most likely built during the rule
of Chinna Bommi Nayak between 1526 and 1595. The fort is a
good example of Tamil Nadu military architecture, while
the Jalakandeswarar Temple within the fort
represents Vijayanagara architecture.

Tirunelveli also known as Nellai and historically (during
British rule) as Tinnevelly, is a major city in the Indian
state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of
the Tirunelveli District. It is the sixth-largest municipal
corporation in the state after Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai,
Trichy and Salem. Tirunelveli is located 700 km southwest of
the state capital Chennai, 58 km away from Thoothukudi and 73

memorial was designed in a way that on Gandhi's
