2. Who am I?
 I am Sameer.
 I am avid fan of everything Bollywood. Be it
songs, movies or everything
 I am great fan of good lyrics. Recently I started
looking for apps which help me in finding lyrics
of bollywood songs
 I tried few popular apps. Few have very good
feature and few are just not as good.
 I wrote this review hoping it will be helpful
anyone looking for good app to view Bollywood
lyrics.

3. What I am looking for
 Simple UI: it should be easy for me to find lyrics I
am looking for.
 Fast & quick response
 Should work offline
 Let me listen to the songs & watch videos of the
lyrics that I am looking at.
 I should be able to bookmark/save a lyrics
 Should have large database of lyrics. I should not
go back to Google to find the lyrics

4. Android Play Store Search
 Search for “Bollywod Lyrics” returned more than
100 apps related to lyrics
 I read the reviews of top 20 apps to understand
how others have liked it.
 Based on the reviews, I downloaded top 5 apps.
 I tried using all features of the app, compared
those with other app and come up with the Top 5
list of popular app to view bollywood lyrics.

 Small app size (2MB)
 Simple UI
 What's bad:
 Not updated since ages (last updated
on May 6, 2014)
 Mostly new songs.
 Not able to find many songs.
 No audio & video of lyrics.
Verdict: 2.5 Star

7.  What's good:
 Nothing (read What’s bad)
 What's bad: Everything
 Not updated since ages (last updated
on Apr 9, 2013), well I wonder why this
app is still in Play Store.
 Worst UI design ever. Big font sizes,
upper case title. Sharp contrast
between font color & background.
 Limited collection of lyrics
 No audio & video of lyrics.
Verdict: 1 Star

 Most downloaded (7,922 user reviews, more than
1 lakh downloads)
 Very simple UI
 Fast & responsive
 Good collection of new popular bollywood lyrics
 Search functionality is good
 Allow saving lyrics for later view.
 What's bad:
 Not very frequently updated (last updated on Jul
28, 2014)
 Mostly new songs. No old songs lyrics
 No audio & video of lyrics.
Verdict: 3.5 Star

9.  What's good:
 Very simple & intuitive UI. Color scheme used for background & UI elements
are pleasant to eye.
 Very fast & responsive navigation.
 Huge collection of new & old bollywood lyrics
 Search functionality is quick & accurate.
 Allow saving lyrics for later view.
 Most lyrics has Youtube videos, it start playing within app itself instead of
opening in external player.
 Unique among all lyrics app is Online Radio integration. More than 50 radio
stations playing new & old Bollywood songs, ghazals. Surprising to see classic
All India Radio Stations (vividh bharati, FM Gold etc).
 Radio plays in the background. Which also displays the name of the currently
playing song, that is awesome, because I can search the currently playing
song’s lyrics within the app itself.
 Browsing lyrics by artists & movies.
 Frequently updated (last updated on Sep 13, 2015)
 What's bad:
 Not able to find many old song’s lyrics
 No audio of lyrics.
Verdict: 4.5 Star

 Can search on multiple fields
 Few lyrics have Youtube videos
 Allows reporting lyrics which has missing
video
 Frequently updated (last updated on Apr 9,
2015)
 What's bad:
 Bad UI design. Big buttons, large fonts. No
consistency.
 Big buttons leaves very little area to display
& view lyrics
 At times slow response during UI navigation
Verdict: 2 Star

11. Which is the Top Bollywood Lyrics
App?
 Based on the comparison, bLyrics has beaten every
other app in its category and occupied the Top slot.
 It has very few number of downloads which could be
attributed to its recent release in Play Store. Given the
time, I am sure bLyrics could well surpass the
download count of all other apps.
 I particularly like the integration of streaming Online
Radio stations. Looks like all the stations are carefully
chosen, which start playing without any large delay
(not a single station took more than 5 seconds to
start)
 If more old songs are added, I am sure bLyrics would
keep the top position for long time.
 It was a very tough fight between LyricsMint & bLyrics
but bLyrics has few extra features (Online Radio,
Youtube integration) which helped it to occupy the top
slot.
