2. STEP 1 Wash your face
• Wash with a gentle
cleanser and pat dry
• Remove make-up
• This cleans away oils
and dirt that may have
accumulated

3. STEP 2 Wait an hour
• During this time, your
skin should return to its
natural state, the
characteristics of which
will determine your skin
type
• Act normally and don't
touch your face

4. STEP 3 Dab your face with a tissue
• Pay attention to the 'T-
zone’ - the area of your
forehead and nose

5. STEP 4 Determine your skin type
• Normal skin shows neither
oil nor flaking. It should feel
supple and smooth
• Oily skin is has grease on
the tissue
• Dry skin may feel taut or
flaky
• Combination skin typically
means the T-zone is oily and
normal/dry elsewhere

6. STEP 5 Know your other problems
There are usually two 'problem'
categories that your skin may fall
under:
• Sensitive skin: your face
reacts easily to regular skin
products (get red/itchy)
• Acne-Prone skin: more
common in those with oily
skin.
