This a donation request letter that was sent out to local businesses soliciting donations for Beastie Ball, an annual fundraiser by the Lexington Humane Society.

1. Dear Friend of the Animals:
Don’t be late for a very important date! The Lexington Humane Society (LHS) invites you to join
us for this year’s Beastie Ball, Whiskers in Wonderland! This year’s gala, held at the Griffin
Gate Marriott Resort on November 22nd
is sure to be an adventure! Enjoy an evening of great
food, drinks, live and silent auctions, dancing, and music by Joey and the Cruisers - all to benefit
the animals of LHS.
Every year, LHS goes above and beyond to care for and adopt 4,200 homeless animals; educate
the community on lifelong, responsible pet ownership; and provide 3,000 free and low-cost
spay/neuter surgeries to families who otherwise could not afford to alter their pets.
Your support of this year’s Beastie Ball, our largest fundraiser of the year, will allow us to
continue to provide these and other important services!
We need community leaders, animal lovers, and other caring folks, to make a difference by
donating auction items for this year’s gala. Can you help? Below are just a few ideas…
Fit for the Queen of Hearts – Manicures, pedicures, relaxation and more
Wear Me – Jewelry and accessories of all types
Down the Rabbit Hole – Destinations, trips, event tickets, and sporting events
Odds and Ends from Wonderland – Items for the house, electronics, furniture, and appliances
Gifts from the Cheshire Cat – Gift certificates of all types
Eat Me, Drink Me – Dining experiences
With your help, we hope to raise much-needed funds for the thousands of deserving animals LHS
cares for every year. Simply fill out the attached Beastie Ball Auction Donation Form and fax the
completed sheet to (859) 259-1598. We will contact you to arrange a convenient time to pick up
your donation. If you are donating a gift certificate, feel free to mail it to LHS. If you would like
to make a monetary contribution, we will gladly designate the funds directly to the Beastie Ball.
Please make your contribution today! We request that all contributions be received by October 11,
2014. Thank you for your support of this year’s Beastie Ball – together we can make a difference
for the animals.
