β’ Fast food began with the first fish and chips shop in Britain in the
1860s. Drive-through resturants were first popularized in 1950s.
β’ The term fast food was recognized in a dictionary by Merriam
Webster in 1951.

οJunk food is loaded with calories and high content of
fat .Consuming so much will definitely lead to
overweight.
οObesity increases risk for respiratory problems,
including asthma and shortness of breath.

ο± Fast foods are high in trans, sugar , and saturated
fats which increase the levels of triglycerides (type
of fat that is in blood). Consequently, it will increase
the risk of having diabetes mainly type 2.

Fast food is particularly is taxing on the heart. In addition to
contributing to higher cholestrol levels,unusually heavy meals
may incraese the risk of heart attack.
According to European Society of Cardiology, areas with a
higher number of fast food resturants have more heart at
ttacks, recent studies also reveal that for every additional fast
food outlet, there were four additional heart attacks per
100,000 people each year.

The trans-fat present in fast
foods gradually accumulate in the liver
and therefore damage it and cause
more stomach isuues e.g ulcer
stomach.

Fast foods contain less
minerals like calcium ,iron,
potassium ,zink and Vitamins
.Hence, regular eating of junk
foods cause malnutrition.
As junk foods lack minerals,
people feel sleepy after
eating them and become couch
potato ( a person who just eat
and watch TV for long hours).

In conclusion,it can be said that fast food has been born out of the modern way of
living in our societies. Unfortunately, the effects it has on the human body and health are
not positive.It has also other negative effects on the income of a family. So fast food has
more disadvantages than advantages.
Fast food is not βBadβ if not eaten frequently, however, consumed much to often, there are
health problems, financial problems and possibly the loss quality of family time.
