A Godly Mother by Pastor Luke Lepago
1. Hebrews 11:23-27
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three
months of his parents, because they saw he was a
proper child; and they were not afraid of the
king’s commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years,
refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s
daughter;
2. Hebrews 11:23-27
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the
people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin
for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches
than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto
the recompence of the reward.
3. Hebrews 11:23-27
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the
wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him
who is invisible.
14. Your children will just watch and listen
and observe and learn and do what you
do!

against God.
2. Rebecca, Jacob’s mother, deceived her husband
and her oldest son Esau and Jacob followed right in
footsteps, struggling with deceit his whole life.
16. 3. Jochebed, the mother of Moses, had courage
and faith, and we see the same kind of courage and
faith in Moses also.
4. Hannah, Samuel’s mother, was known for her
prayer life and Samuel is recorded in 1 Samuel
12:23, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD
in ceasing to pray for you.
17. 5. Eunice had a strong, faith in God, and Paul says
of Timothy in
2 Timothy 1:5, When I call to remembrance the
unfeigned faith that is in thee which dwelt first in
thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice;
am persuaded that in thee also.
18. When you choose to do right even to your
own hurt, you are setting an example that
your children will never forget.
22. III. A Godly Mother Will Impart Faith
to Her Children
23. Hebrews 11:24
By faith Moses, when he was come to
years, refused to be called the son of
Pharaoh’s daughter.
24. Exodus 2:7-10
Then said his sister to Pharaoh's
daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a
nurse of the Hebrew women, that she
may nurse the child for thee?
25. Exodus 2:7-10
8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her,
Go. And the maid went and called the
child's mother.
26. Exodus 2:7-10
9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her,
Take this child away, and nurse it for me,
and I will give thee thy wages. And the
women took the child, and nursed it.
27. Exodus 2:7-10
10 And the child grew, and she brought
him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he
became her son. And she called his
name Moses: and she said, Because I
drew him out of the water.
28. Her teaching and her example would turn
Moses into a man of faith.
30. Moms, don’t underestimate the power you
have to help your child come to faith in God.
Realize that your greatest responsibility as a
mother is to raise your child to trust in Jesus
and live his or her whole life for Him.
31. IV. A Godly Mother Will Teach Her
Children to Trust God in Difficult
Times
32. Hebrews 11:25
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with
the people of God, than to enjoy the
pleasures of sin for a season.
33. Moses saw the temporary nature of the pleasures of sin
for a season.
He chose to suffer with the people of God instead of
live in palace pleasures.
He understood that suffering is temporary.
He saw that eternal riches were in the Lord, not
Pharaoh’s palace.
34. Hebrews 11:26
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater
riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he
had respect unto the recompence of the
reward.
35. He learned to walk by faith, trusting
God in difficult times
36. Deuteronomy 6:5-8
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God
with all thine heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command
thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
37. Deuteronomy 6:5-8
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children, and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house, and
when thou walkest by the way, and when
thou liest down, and when thou risest
up.
38. Deuteronomy 6:5-8
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign
upon thine hand, and they shall be as
frontlets between thine eyes.
39. The kind of love God requires is one that
is full time and under every circumstance.
40. Teach them about God in your home.
Explain the Gospel to them until they understand
and seek salvation.
Reinforce it through continued teaching and by
being an example of trusting God even in the
midst of adversity and trial.
Keep them in church.
