8. PROTOTYPE PROCESS
1. Sketch out the design and measurements
2. Look for moving boxes
3. Gather all the materials needed
4. Gather your team in one place
5. Start building the shelf
12. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3
STAGE 1
Flatten your box Then cut the tow lines to
create two pieces
approximately 22" long
After flattening the box draw
two lines 1.5" away from the
corner creases
13. Step 4 Step 5
STAGE 2
Once cut out the legs
handle these with care
and bend the corner
creases
Now you have made the legs,
put them aside and start on
the shelves
14. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3
STAGE 3
Now we are making the
shelves, The first step is
to cut a square 15.5" x 13.5
Then with a ruler or other
blunt object manually create
a crease 1.5" into the board
Then Take the corners off
the 15.5"x 13.5" box.
15. Step 4 Step 5 Step 6
STAGE 3
Once Creases are created,
fold the creases up
Once glue has dried you now
have created a shelf, but
doesn't it seem weak?
Now tape all 4 corners,
adding in hot clue to
solidify the corners
16. Step 4 Step 5 Step 6
Now that we have a shelf
lets make it able to hold
some weight
Then use a strong adhesive to
attach each piece onto the
back of the shelf
Cut one wide piece and 4
short pieces for the
sekleton
STAGE 4
17. Step 1 Step2 Step3
STAGE 5
Grab the four legs you
made previously
Use a hot glue gun to attach all 4
legs to the corner of the shelfboard
Attach some tapes connecting the
leg and the board
18. Step 1 Step2
STAGE 6
Attach the second
board by applying hot
glue inside the legs
Add tape on the outer side on all
corners to ensure the board is
stable in its place
19. Step 1 Step2 Step3
STAGE 7
Decorate the top shelf
board with a style wrap
and using tape
Use a hot glue gun to attach all 4
inner corners of the shelf board to
the top of the legs
Apply pressure to ensure it holds in
place and attach tape on the outside
corners of the board and legs
20. Step 1 Step2 Step3
STAGE 8
Add support to the legs by
measuring and drawing the
legs at each level. Cut out
the shpae
Put hot glue on the inner parts of
the leg and attach the support for
each leg on all levels
Apply pressure to ensure it
holds in place
21. Step 1 Step2 Step3
STAGE 9
To attach the wood panel
to the shelf, apply the
hanging strips on the sides
Apply other strips on the side of
shelf around the middle section
Please connect both the panel and the
shelf together by applying pressure.
Repeat this stage on the other side
