The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian
ethical guide for Rotarians & Rotaractors to use for a
personal and professional relationships.
Of the things we think, say or do
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER
FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

4. From the Desk of District Rotaract Representative
Dear Rotaractors,
Warm Rotaract Greetings!
I hope that all are doing well in their personal and profes-
sional life & in Rotaract too.
Three months of this tenure are already passed & I can say
that they really went smoothly and lots of things were done
successfully. Starting from DA, then 4 Zonal Fellowship
Meets, Club installations, Club assemblies, RAW, RYLA, par-
ticipation in Literacy program, lots of various innovative pro-
jects were conducted successfully by the clubs and it proved
to be a great start.
It is rightly said by Dalai Lama, “The roots of all goodness lie
in the soil of appreciation for goodness”. Thus, appreciation
is next to excellence. And, I really want to appreciate all the
clubs who have paid their district dues on time and for-
warded their first step towards excellence.
Planning and implementation always go hand - in - hand.
2
5. A brilliant planning is nothing without a successful imple-
mentation of it. I would like to suggest all the clubs to plan
realistic projects which can be implemented successfully &
focus more on proper implementation of one project rather
than planning n-number of projects at a time.
They say, “Well begun is half done”. We have begun well but
still there is lot more to do. We have to increase our mem-
bership; we have focus on professionalisms; we have to
make efforts to publicize Rotaract more and more. And for
all these, we need to increase our dedication, our working
spirit and of course, we need to be one… to be THE ONE!
“Lot more heights are waiting for us;
Lot more challenges are welcoming us;
But we can climb through if we are one;
So, pull your socks up &
Let’s be the One”!

15. The word Creativity comes from the word create. Creativity is the abil-
ity to create. The ability to do anything is dependent on the drive to do
so and the knowledge needed to it.
How would anyone teach anyone to be able to create? Something to
ponder upon!
Zen monks have a very wonderful theory on life. It is believed that life
is like crossing a river, and to do that you have a boat; the more
knowledge you have of your boat the better you'll be able to cross the
river! Similarly creativity will come inherent if you have enough knowl-
edge and the passion to use it well.
Thus my approach, that creativity cannot be added to our curriculum.
Instead the passion and knowledge required to awaken creativity
within, can be inculcated.
A student cannot be expected to be creative by just overloading him
with projects and assignments. Whereas making him sensitive to the
problems in society and educating him all about them may spark his
creative self to find a solution. The drive or passion and in some
cases obsession has led to beautiful discoveries, the world has wit-
nessed.
Should creativity be part of curriculum?
14
16. Mahatma Gandhi thought of Satyagraha without learning creativity in
his entire schooling. He was sensitive to the problems of the society.
He had a degree in Law. Both combined and he ended up finding a
solution. But then again to implement it he had to have a passion.
Similarly Jobs gave us Apple because he was passionate about the
computers. He wanted the world to see what he could create to make
lives easier. His approach was simple and creative is what the guard-
ian says now. His words 'Stay Hungry Stay Foolish' point exactly to
the fact that; Stay hungry as in be driven for it and stay foolish so that
you can know more. Edison's acute obsession for the light bulb is a
more popular example. Imagine his obsession when he calls his failed
experiments as a source of knowledge too. And of course, our late
President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's drive to see India as a super-
power resulted in the revolutionary innovation of SLV (Satellite
Launching Vehicle). The intensity of his vision and to work upon it
couldn't have helped him without knowledge and the force of his pas-
sion. His hunger to see India rise was his obsession and his summit.
And I am pretty sure he wasn't taught to be creative in school. But
yes, his teachers did groom him to be passionate about his work.
"The simple ideas when take shape will become complex, learn not to
give up then for you are closest to winning" was his answer when he
was asked "How did you overcome failures?"
Thus I rest my argument with an inference; Creativity can be induced
in a student by making him/her making him/her resourceful and sensi-
tive. Passion will grow and what will come later will be phenomenal
for the world to see.
