Hazing Awareness Week December 10th- 14th
“Hazed and Confused”

Monday:
11:00-1:00 (College Center Atrium)
         • Information Table

The information that was presented at the tables was a combination of both pamphlets
and packets that contained facts and figures regarding national hazing statistics. The
purpose was to raise the level of awareness to all organized groups regarding hazing. We
also included the Augustana definition of hazing and the possible punishments to those
who take part in such activities.

Tuesday:
11:00-1:00 (College Center Atrium)
         • Information Table

4:00 Hazing Frigs Deadline OSA Office
The frigs were probably the most effective thing that we had during the week. In total we
had seven of the twelve Greek groups get involved with making a frig speaking
out against hazing on campus. We took a white twin bed sheet and cut it in half.
Each group got one half to design however they wished. We also judged each frig.
We then attached each end of the sheet to long wooden stakes and placed them in
the lower campus by the slough. They looked great on the first day, but due to
some windy weather, most of them blew over after a while. So, make sure they
are really anchored to the ground since they catch wind very easily.

7:00—Olin Auditorium
            • Showing of “Dazed and Confused”
For this event we had zero attendance…

Wednesday:
11-1:00 (College Center Atrium)
          • Information Table

Thursday:
11:00-1:00 (College Center Atrium)
         • Information Table

Friday:
11:00-1:00 (College Center Atrium)
• Hazing Information
            • Dirt Dessert!!
We decided to draw more people to our table by using food. The dirt dessert was part
attraction and part to simulate a hazing activity such as “eating dirt.”

For the information, we searched for statistics on various organizations’ websites. We
used many different statistics and put them all together in a pamphlet to hand out.

Let’s Talk About “IT” with Kelly Addington and Rebecca Tieder Olin 7pm
This was an EXPLORE event that went very well. One of the speakers had been sexually
assaulted and spoke to the audience about her emotional experience with that. Both
speakers were very interactive and animated which made for a great show.
