This chapter from the ancient Indian text, the Bhagavad Gita, contains a dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna occurring on the battlefield before the start of the Kurukshetra War. Krishna counsels Arjuna on his duty as a warrior and urges him not to yield to weakness and despondency. He explains that the soul is eternal and the body is temporary. One must fight when duty calls without concern for victory or defeat.
