Until recently, the film we’re making was technically impossible. No one has done
what we’re doing before, because it simply couldn’t be done.
We’re playing with the space/time continuum by using cutting edge technology to
capture real things that you can’t see, but are there nonetheless.
Human Tide is 3 x 100 second films of a 1000 meter line of light being drawn 3
times where land meets the water as the tide comes in and the sun sets.
We are looking for a suitably ‘impossible’ piece of music to accompany the films,
which are designed to be shown in a large gallery setting on an epic scale.

The following shots were taken at dusk with a test light
rig - they are long exposure stills, but get the idea of
what it will look like across.
The finished films will be a combination of timelapse
and long exposure.
They will look magical and almost supernatural.

The Background
This piece is an homage to the Godfather of the Avant Garde, Marcel Duchamp.
We are transcoding his ground-breaking work, 3 Standard Stoppages, using the
tide to replicate the string he used in the original work.
If you go to the following sites, you can get the background on the whole thing.
