My presentation
1. I am so proud of you!! I knew you would make it because I wouldn’t have it any other way. You
will do great things in life as will your siblings. You have always been a go getter, seize the day
kind of person and I’ve always admired that about you. You are outgoing, smart, beautiful,
loyal, and humorous. First let me say that in spite of the fact that you were a teen mother,
NEVER, let anyone make you feel that they are better than you. You made a choice and
accepted the responsibility for that choice. You are human and you are just as good as any
other human on this earth. Hold your head high because judgment day isn’t here yet. We are
all still trying to get it right. Second be true to yourself and do the right thing. You are a leader
so lead people down the right path. Remain humble and keep the Lord first. Mama isn’t there
yet but I still pray, talk to, and call on him daily. Surround yourself with positive people and
don’t forget those who have helped you along the way no matter how small the gesture. If you
can be a positive influence in other people’s lives do so and pay it forward. Third treat people
well and always lend a helping hand. Plant those seeds because it’s true you will reap what
you sow. Stand up for what you believe in even if it’s just you. Think, speak, and be positive.
Nothing beats failure but trying and if you fail dust yourself off and try again. Work your mind
hard now so you don’t have to work your back harder later. You are my 3rd oldest child and
like the others, I expect great things from you. If you can see it, you can achieve it. This is just
the beginning and you’ve yet reached your destination. Don’t settle for anything less than the
best. Remember the words of the song I played for you all when you were small called I Hope
You Dance by Lee Ann Womack. This song says exactly how I feel about all of you and when
you need me play it!! I hope all of you Dance!!
Love always,
Mom

34. I Hope You Dance
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'
Don't let some Hellbent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
