Literature Review This research will primarily show how precautionary measures such as; ART
therapy and Pre–Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) therapy, and monogamy will allow a serodiscordant
couple (one infected partner and one non–infected partner) to have normal sexual practices and
lower infection rates to the uninfected person in this dual relationship. Researchers have found if
the infected person in a serodiscordant relationship is following the prescribed regimen, then
transmission of the disease is 96% less likely to be passed to the HIV negative partner (Quinn, 2010)
In 2010, because of extensive clinical testing, a new therapy for HIV prevention was created.
Pre–Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEp) is a prevention method that treats the uninfected partner with an
orally administered antiretroviral medication. The Center for Disease Control supported the study,
which was conducted in the United States and other countries with the hope being that this
prevention strategy would lower infection rates. Studies conducted using the PrEp therapy in men
having sex with men resulted in lower infection rates. (Gray RH, 2011). When the HIV negative
partner in a homosexual serodiscordant relationship takes the PrEp each day, risk factors are

What I Have Learned About Research
What I have learned about research is that it is a process, a scientific process that psychologist
and scientist develop that includes many different approaches and that is carefully peer reviewed
and evaluated. There is what is called the Scientific Approach where scientist have an idea or
theory and based on their observation will either support the theory or the theory can be falsified
by their peers. Data also goes through a review period before it is published in a scientific journal
by scientist who have the knowledge and expertise to evaluate it.
I also learned the difference between basic and applied research where basic research focuses mostly
on things such as emotion, cognition, social behavior, personality development, learning, and
neuropsychology. Basic research will be more helpful for answering fundamental questions about the
nature of behavior. Applied research however, addresses more of a specific problem with a possible
solution. Program evaluation covers a large area of applied research. Program evaluation assesses the
social reforms and innovations that occur in government, education, the criminal justice system,
industry, health care, and mental health institutions. When discussing behavioral research it is
imperative to note the precedents that it has in many fields and the significance of the applications
to public policy.

Photosynthesis is the processes that captures energy from the sunlight to male sugars that store
chemical energy. and cell respiration releases chemical energy from sugars and other carbon based
molecules to make atp when oxygen is presented. and atp is the molecule that transfers energy from
the breakdown of food molecules to cell processes. With all of these process they work together to
capture energy by the sun and convert it into everyg of life. It starts with the photosynthesis. First, the
carbon dioxide and oxygen will enter the leaves in plants through the stomata. then the water travels

And the light independent happens to make atp used to make the glucose. Atp is very important
since cells use it for functions. however, with photosynthesis the cell respiration and photosynthesis
chloroplast absorb the energy from sunlight and build sugras, then the mitochondria will release the
chemical energy to make atp. the cell respiration starts with 3 carbon molecules they enter cell
respiration in mitochondria, and the energy carrying molecules transfer energy to electron transport.
so next the energy carrying molecule which atp molecules are produced. last heat and water are
