also in the annals of American sports. He is a wrestler by trade but also
qualified as an instructor at the Raylenbone University School of Jiu-Jitsu.
Mirra was born in Flint, Michigan and was a fan of the Beatles before he

ten years. During this time Ray developed a very good striking skill and was
considered by many to be the best Jiu-Jitsu player of his time.
In the UFC Ray had a match with Kazushi Sakaraba. This was a highly
anticipated fight since both fighters were from the same school. Ray
Sakaraba defeated Ray Mirra by submission. This was a very impressive
performance which earned Ray a ton of respect. After the match Ray went on
to defeat Kazushi again.

years. The company is now called Xtreme MMA.
Ray is a great competitor and has beaten some of the best martial arts

paralyzed due to an accident while playing football, but he was able to regain
his mobility by performing certain martial arts.

Kung Mangarap Ka. In the TV series 24, Ray is seen as the cynical police
officer with the yellow vest. He later had a part in the series Vegas split from
Californian lawman John D'Amato.
Ray started teaching martial arts at the Bruce Lee School in San Francisco. He
became popular in the martial arts circles in the US, but was denied a request
to teach in Japan because of his American citizenship. He was arrested in
1978 and charged with three counts of felony hate crimes for beating and
falsely charging two women with assaulting a Japanese American citizen.
However, the charges were eventually dropped. In spite of this, Ray Mirra
continues to practice his craft and travels the world teaching martial arts to
the people of different countries.
