Act I
 One Sunday morning Jimmy & Cliff are
reading newspaper.
 Jimmy argues with his wife because she
belongs to a upper class family
 All women live only to destroy men
 Cliff & Jimmy fell on Alison’s iron board & her
hand gets burnt
 Cliff helps her to treat her
 Alison tells Cliff about her pregnancy
 Cliff talks to Alison & kissed her
 Jimmy see them both but doesn’t said anything
 They all live in a Non- Traditional setup
 Cliff goes outside to buy some cigaretes
 Cliff comes back n tells Alison her friend
Helena is on call
 Jimmy gets angry when he knew Helena wants
to live them
 Jimmy tells Alison u become mother of a child
& child should die then u will know what
suffering is
 Here Act ends
Act II
 Helena lives with Alison in their apartment
 Alison tells Helena about beginning days of
their marriage
 Jimmy & Alison lived with Huke (Jimmy’s
friend)
 Helena asks Alison why did u married Jimmy ?
 Alison tells Helena about her marriage
decision
 Jimmy heard that Alison is going to Church
with Helena
 Jimmy again insults Alison but Helena tries to
explain Jimmy
 Jimmy tells Helena ‘Have you ever seen
someone dying, I have seen’.
 Helena tells Alison she has informed her
condition to her father.
 Jimmy tells Alison Huke’s mother is sick we
need to go hospital.
 Colonel Redfern arrives an evening to take her
daughter
 Alison tells Cliff to give her message to Jimmy
& goes away
 Cliff was very angry with Helena & tells
Helena to give the letter to Jimmy & leaves
 Jimmy returned & saw what happened behind
him
 Helena gives letter to Jimmy & said Alison is
pregnant
 She became very angry & she slaps Jimmy &
kissed him
 Few months later, it seems Act I is repeating
 Cliff tells Jimmy he is leaving the apartment
but Jimmy tries to stop him
 Helena gives his shirt & tells she loves him
 Alison returns back to apartment
 Alison tells she is not angry with Helena
 Helena says sorry to Alison & tells Jimmy she’s
going
 Jimmy insults Helena, she leaves the apartment
 Alison cries, says sorry to Jimmy & falls
 Jimmy cannot see his wife in this condition
 At the end they both reunite together
 They talk about a game which they often used
to play

  • 3. Characters  Jimmy Porter  Alison Porter  Cliff Lewis  Helena Charles  Colonel Redfern
  • 4. Act I  One Sunday morning Jimmy & Cliff are reading newspaper.  Jimmy argues with his wife because she belongs to a upper class family  All women live only to destroy men
  • 5.  Cliff & Jimmy fell on Alison’s iron board & her hand gets burnt  Cliff helps her to treat her  Alison tells Cliff about her pregnancy
  • 6.  Cliff talks to Alison & kissed her  Jimmy see them both but doesn’t said anything  They all live in a Non- Traditional setup
  • 7.  Cliff goes outside to buy some cigaretes  Cliff comes back n tells Alison her friend Helena is on call  Jimmy gets angry when he knew Helena wants to live them
  • 8.  Jimmy tells Alison u become mother of a child & child should die then u will know what suffering is  Here Act ends
  • 9. Act II  Helena lives with Alison in their apartment  Alison tells Helena about beginning days of their marriage  Jimmy & Alison lived with Huke (Jimmy’s friend)
  • 10.  Helena asks Alison why did u married Jimmy ?  Alison tells Helena about her marriage decision  Jimmy heard that Alison is going to Church with Helena  Jimmy again insults Alison but Helena tries to explain Jimmy
  • 11.  Jimmy tells Helena ‘Have you ever seen someone dying, I have seen’.  Helena tells Alison she has informed her condition to her father.  Jimmy tells Alison Huke’s mother is sick we need to go hospital.
  • 12.  Colonel Redfern arrives an evening to take her daughter  Alison tells Cliff to give her message to Jimmy & goes away  Cliff was very angry with Helena & tells Helena to give the letter to Jimmy & leaves
  • 13.  Jimmy returned & saw what happened behind him  Helena gives letter to Jimmy & said Alison is pregnant  She became very angry & she slaps Jimmy & kissed him
  • 14.  Few months later, it seems Act I is repeating  Cliff tells Jimmy he is leaving the apartment but Jimmy tries to stop him  Helena gives his shirt & tells she loves him
  • 15.  Alison returns back to apartment  Alison tells she is not angry with Helena  Helena says sorry to Alison & tells Jimmy she’s going
  • 16.  Jimmy insults Helena, she leaves the apartment  Alison cries, says sorry to Jimmy & falls  Jimmy cannot see his wife in this condition
  • 17.  At the end they both reunite together  They talk about a game which they often used to play
