The trust organized several charitable events throughout 2007, including distributing blankets, food, and running an anti-smoking marathon in September. They also held multiple free eye camps in collaboration with Venu Eye Institute, providing eye exams, diabetes screening, and free glasses and medicine to hundreds of impoverished people. The trust additionally distributed school supplies to children in slums, helped child laborers pursue new opportunities, and gave woolen clothes to slum children to promote literacy. The goal of all these activities was to raise awareness and support those in need.
2. On 9/1/2007, the trust set a
blanket distribution camp on
occasion of the opening of the
trust. It took place at park – 2,
L Block, Saket where 100
blankets were distributed to
the poor people. This great
work was done by the hands of
Mrs. M S Rao, the
Chairperson of CNI. Food
distribution to 100 people was
also done on the same day.
This was the first step of the
trust in order to spread
awareness for poverty.
3. On 26/1/2007 (Republic Day), trust introduced an
Anti-Smoking Marathon named, “Run for Life”
with Havells Powering Light at park near Gate no.
2, L Block, Saket. The main message was “smoking
is injurious to health” specially for school children.
6 schools took part in this program . Green field
school, Amity international school, APJ school, Red
rose school and two Government secondary schools.
There were more than 650 participants in this
program out of which 572 children participated in
the marathon. This marathon was started by
counsellor of MCD, Mr Rohit Manchanda. This has
proved to be a matter of awareness for school
children through which we have to secure the future
of upcoming generation. Students who won the
marathon race of 400 meters were awarded by
Havells Powering lights. For all this trust
appreciates the efforts of Mr Varun Sagar who
worked hard and made this programs an
achievement.
4. On 12/8/07, the trust organised a free eye
camp in collaboration with Venu eye
institute and research centre. This was
done in L Block, Saket at RWA office.
Check ups were done on computers and
by latest technologies. Diabetes check ups
and retinopathy were also a part of the
camp. Trust also provided free spectacles
and medicines for eyes to the needy
people who could not afford it. The
director of the trust said that they will
frequently organize such camps in future
so that poor people get maximum benefits.
There were 190 patients for eyes check
up, 150 for Diabetes, 6 for Refried, 1 for
Glaucoma, 2 for Vertigo, 1 for Vertigo
Retina and 4 for Dialeted Retinoscopy. All
in all 190 people were benefited by this
camp. The objective was again to spread
awareness and uplift needy people.
5. On 19/8/07, the trust introduced a free eye
camp in collaboration with Venu eye institute
and research centre. This was done in Jatav
area, Tughlakabad village. Check ups were
done on computers and by latest
technologies. Diabetes check ups and
retinopathy were also a part of the camp.
Trust also provided free spectacles and
medicines for eyes to the needy people who
could not afford it. The director of the trust
said that they will frequently organize such
camps in future so that poor people get
maximum benefits. In this camp there were
304 patients for eyes check up, 186 for
Diabetes, 14 for Refried, 3 for Glaucoma, 2
for Vertigo, 1 for Vertigo Retina and 4 for
Dialeted Retinoscopy. All in all 304 people
were benefited by this camp. The objective
was again to spread awareness and uplift
needy people.
6. On 26/8/07, the trust introduced a free eye
camp in collaboration with Venu eye institute
and research centre. This was done in Aasha
health centre, Indira Gandhi camp, sunlight
colony-2, Ashram. Check ups were done on
computers and by latest technologies.
Diabetes check ups and retinopathy were also
a part of the camp. Trust also provided free
spectacles and medicines for eyes to the
needy people who could not afford it. The
director of the trust said that they will
frequently organize such camps in future so
that poor people get maximum benefits. In
this camp there were 244 patients for eyes
check up, 146 for Diabetes, 10 for Refried, 2
for Glaucoma, 1 for Vertigo, 1 for Vertigo
Retina and 1 for Dialeted Retinoscopy. All in
all 244 people were benefited by this camp.
The objective was again to spread awareness
and uplift needy people.
7. On 25/8/07, the director of
trust approached around 16
children who were of age 10
to 16 years, working at wine
shops for getting Rs. 25/-
along with a quarter bottle
of wine. The director made
strict efforts for g iving
these children a new
direction and a new
approach to life. According
to him more efforts for
these children are required
in future.
8. On 26/8/07, Trust distributed
free books, notebooks, pencils,
erasers, etc in Indira Gandhi
camp, sunlight colony,
Ashram. The director realized
that these slum children want
to study but they don’t get an
opportunity for the same. He
said that the trust will help
such children in some or the
other way because these
children are the future of the
country. Around 72 children
were benefited in this camp.
9. On 2/9/07,the trust introduced a free eye
camp in collaboration with Venu Eye
Institute and research centre at Chetna house
,B-block, Dakshinpuri, New Delhi. Check
ups were done on computers and latest
technology. Diabetes check up and
Retinopathy were also a part of check ups.
Trust also provided free spectacles and
medicines for eyes to the needy people. The
director of trust said that they will frequently
organize such camps in future so that the
poor people get maximum benefits. In this
camp, there were 344 patients for eyes check
up, 210 for diabetes, 9 for refried, 3 for
glaucoma, 2 for vertigo, 2 for vertigo retina,
4 for dialeted retinoscopy. All in all, 344
people were benefited by this camp. The
objective was again to spread awareness and
uplift needy people.
10. On 16/9/07, the trust introduced a
program for creating a friendly
environment with the children free
from child labour in Delhi Gospel
Church mehrauli with church
children. There were 16 such
children who were now free from
child labour and children
participated in this event were 68.
Also, every child was given a gift
on behalf of the trust. It is a new
step with a new direction for those
children who were suffering from
child labour earlier but now they
are free for living a new life.
11. On 23/9/07, the trust introduced a free eye
camp in collaboration with Venu Eye
Institute and research centre at RWA,
Siddharth Enclave, Ashram. Check ups were
done on computers and latest technology.
Diabetes check up and retinopathy were also
a part of check ups. Trust also provided free
spectacles and medicines for eyes to the
needy people. The director of the trust said
that they will frequently organize such camps
in future so the poor people get maximum
benefits. In this camp there were 190 patients
for eyes check up, 120 for diabetes, 9 for
refried, 5 for glaucoma, 3 for vertigo, 3 for
vertigo retina, 4 for dialeted retinoscopy. All
in all 190 people were benefited by this camp
including 24 major and minor operations.
The objective was again to spread awareness
and uplift needy people.
12. The trust with the help of the
letter number V.E.I.R.C/3868 date
20/9/07, from Venu Eye Institute
took a permission to work for
slum girls in Zakhira slum
through where he was already
performing a program. The
director of the trust went and
personally asked the slum girls as
to how they want to earn their
livelihood. Their answer was by
making and selling candles. On
10/10/2007, the director helped
27 girls in making candles and
thereafter they are still earning
through this profession.
13. Venu Eye Institute through there
letter no. V.E.I.R.C/5299 date
25/9/2007 asked for a help in
which victims were to be checked
against diabetes through a strip
which costs Rs.9 and 38.paise.
The trust helped 750 victims by
spending Rs.7020/ on them.
14. On 24/11/2007, the trust
introduced a camp in Jatav area,
Tughlakabad village in which it
distributed free books, copies,
pencils and rubbers in order to
spread awareness among poor
children. These children are
interested for studying but are
not even getting the basic
necessities. The director said that
they will help such children in
some or the other way because
these children are the future of
the country. 54 children were
benefited by this camp.
15. On 13/11/07, the trust received
a letter( Number : A-20 ) from
Saint John Public School,
Hindon vihar, Arthla, Ghaziabad
for a help in terms of woolen
clothes for slum children. The
trust took a decision on
27/11/07 and distributed woolen
sweaters to 80 children.
According to the director these
sweaters were distributed
amongst slum children to spread
the awareness of literacy. He
says that one day these children
would be seen on heights.
16. On 18/12/07, Trust distributed
free books, notebooks, pencils,
erasers, etc in Indira Gandhi
camp, sunlight colony,
Ashram. The director realized
that these slum children want
to study but they don’t get an
opportunity for the same. The
same camp was done
previously on 26/8/07. He said
that the trust will help such
children in some or the other
way because these children are
the future of the country.
Around 68 children were
benefited in this camp.
