This monthly progress report summarizes SEED's activities in 3 villages in Andhra Pradesh, India in August 2019. It provides details of distributing school databases, celebrating Independence Day by distributing dictionaries and diaries, finalizing installation of water coolers in schools, conducting monitoring visits to the 3 schools where they evaluated conditions and held sessions on health and education, and additional demands reported by school principals and staff including improving toilet conditions, adding wash basins, upgrading kitchens, adding dining halls, sinks for utensils, more tables and chairs, and sports facilities.

School Data Base of all 3 villages

The School database collected through base line survey by Seed team.

Celebration Independence Day in all the 3 villages: -
August 15th being Independence Day in India,
SEED and ReNew Power team took time off from
their holiday to participate in the celebrations with
the children. The day started with flag hoisting and
singing the national anthem, as is the customary
practice across the country. However, this year, the
Team had something different in store for the
children, in each school, Pocket dictionary, Diary with pen distributed among the winner team
for encouraging them.

Installation of water cooler with RO + UV in the school: -
The vendor of the RO water cooler has been finalized. In coming week, it will be installed in all
the 3 schools.
Monitoring and Evaluation of 3 villages:
Seed Team visited all 3 schools (Yatikallu, Chinnampali, Papampalli) and met with school’s
principle and staff. We also did the evaluation of the schools' condition and took session with
students. We also aware the students on the health-related issue and importance of education
among the school students.

Additional Demand by School’s Principle and staffs: -
1. Condition of school toilets is not good, there is no water supply, there is no urinal in the
boys' toilets.
2. There is no washbasin where students use it after going to toilets and before taking the
Mid -day meal.
3. School’s Kitchen condition is not good, staff are still using traditional practices for
cooking food which is harmful for the students and their staff.
4. There is no dinning hall where students are taking their meal in every school. Students
have to sit on the floor for taking lunch. School staffs did not allow the students taking
their lunch inside the classroom.
5. In each school, there is no sink for cleaning the utensil after taking lunch.
6. Every school has limited number of tables and chairs, so they need more tables and
chairs.
