                                    Deeds

                2. Describing

                    Allah
2-The Acceptance of Deeds

             Conditions

                     2. In accordance
1. Sincerity of with the Quran &
   intention Sunnah
3. The Story of Abel & Cain
“ALLAH has commanded the believers to do that which he has commanded
                         the messengers “

do The exalted has said “ O messengers !Eat of the good things and
                               right

 Refutation of the disbelievers
                             “
        …
How the messengers purified
       themselves?

        1st physically 2nd spiritually

Consuming only what is Doing righteous deeds
           Pure (Total submission)
  1- Halal (permissible)

Must be lawful in and of
                       itself

    2- Tayyib ( good )

means lawful& coming from
      lawful sources
And The exalted also said
“O believers ! Eat of the good things that we have provided for
                                   you.”

1- The command was Consuming food
repeated to the
 believers due to the
importance of the Obligatory Forbidden
command it self (Survive ) harming his ability
     Why ? to worship ALLAH

How far away deeds Still rewarded
                                                              disapproval
are from being ( intention )
accepted when the
      person is
sustaining him self Permissible
through forbidden
       means
Then he mentioned [the case] of a man
who, after a long journey, is disheveled and
dust-colored. [ the man] stretches his
hands out toward the sky and says, "O Lord!
O Lord!", while his food is Haraam
(unlawful), his drink is Haraam, his
clothing is Haraam, and his nourishment is
Haraam, so how can [his supplication] be
answered ?!
One of the most important kinds of worships is
                 Supplication:

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by
sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all
sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.“

And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am very near; I
answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls on Me, so they should answer
My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way.
Description for the man

         1. In a journey.

 2. disheveled and dust-colored

3. stretches his hands out toward the sky

   4. Says “ O Lord, O Lord”
1. In a journey.
The best time to make supplication:

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said; Three supplications
will not be rejected (by Allah (SWT)), the supplication of
the parent for his child, the supplication of the one who is
fasting, and the supplication of the traveler. [al-Bayhaqi,
at-Tirmidhi - Sahih]
2. Disheveled and dust-colored

May a person with disheveled hair and dust-colored is turned away
from the doors that if he were to swear by Allah, Allah would fulfill that
                                                                  for him
One of the causes for Allah to respond to
supplication one’s

       Modesty and simplicity
3. Stretches his hands out
           toward the sky

Your lord is munificent and generous, and is ashamed to turn
away empty the hands of His servant when he raises them to
 Him.

Another causes for Allah to respond to one’s supplication:

       Raising the hands in supplication
4. Says “ O Lord, O Lord”
The term Lord is the one of the most important names by
which Allah is to be beseeched. Many supplications that are
found in the Quran begin with “ O Lord” or “O our Lord”
And there are men who say: "Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in
the Hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!“ Surah Al-Baqarah
(201)
"Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not
on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord!
Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear.” (Surah Al-
Baqarah (286)

"Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast
guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the
Grantor of bounties without measure.” Surah āl ʿIm'rān (8)
don't be surprised that the response is slow in coming as you have
blocked it’s road due to your sins
while his food is Haraam (unlawful), his drink is Haraam, his
clothing is Haraam, and he his nourishment is Haraam, so how
can [his supplication] be answered ?!

If one’s life is filled with forbidden aspects, how does one expect Allah to
respond to his prayers?
The person himself doesn’t respond to Allah’s teachings and yet he
expects Allah to respond to his calls.
This hadith makes it clear that if one really wants Allah to respond to his
prayers, he must respond to Allah’s call and then Allah will certainly
respond to his call.
Allah may also respond to a supplication to cause
                 some awakening
The person should recognize the blessing that Allah has given him and
how Allah has responded to him although he has not responded
properly to Allah’s call. If this doesn’t have any affect on him, then it is
a matter of Allah simply giving him more blessings while he is making
himself more & more ungrateful for what Allah has given him. Hence,
the person is just taking himself closer & closer to his own destruction.

Allah responds to supplication in three ways:
Allah (SWT) will respond to the supplicant and He will give him what he asked
   for.
Allah (SWT) will prevent the supplicant from being harmed.
Allah (SWT) will reward the supplicant with “Hasanat” (good reward) which
will be kept for him on the Day Of Judgment.
This presentation is a product of cooperation among
three students at the Higher Institute of Islamic
Studies in Foreign Languages (Al-Arqam) in Nasr City,
 Cairo-Egypt.
They ask the reader to pray for them that they gain deep
knowledge and understanding of Islam and benefit the
 Muslim Ummah.

Editor's Notes

  1. Presenter’s NotesThe Meaning of Al-TayyibTayyib literally means something good. It occurs twice in the Hadith and the scope of meaning changes according to the noun described. When tayyib describes Allah swt, it becomes equivalent to al-taahir (the pure). Allah swt is holy, pure, and perfect in Himself, His names, His attributes, rulings, deeds, and all that emanates from Him. The second Tayyib in the hadith means from defects as with regards to rulings of the Sharia’a and as with regards to any corrupt intention. When a servant of Allah is described as tayyib, it means this servant is adorned with refined manners and purified from vices. When money is described as tayyib, it is halal, duly earned and from a legitimate source.Ibn Rajab explains that tayyib is more comprehensive. It covers words/speech and beliefs as much as it describes money and actions. He quotes the Qura’n”كلمةً طيبةً كشجرةٍ طيبةٍ“”كلمةٍ خبيثةٍ كشجرةٍ خبيثةٍ“Allah swt has divided speech into good and evil.
  2. Presenter’s NotesHow Do We Have Our Deeds Accepted? We, as Muslims and believers, try to perform all the good deeds/actions we can with as much perfection as we know of. We try to obtain khushu’ in prayers and recitation of Qura’n; we give alms to cleanse and purify ourselves. Whatever righteous action we take, we hope Allah would accept it as acceptances comes only from him. However, there are prerequisites that we need to observe, preliminary steps to know we are on the right track to an acceptable deed:Sincerity ”إخلاص“: We must seek Allah alone and make our deed purely for Him. The Prophet sallah Allah alaihwasallam says “Actions are but driven by intentions” ”إنما الأعمال بالنيات“. Intend to please Allah alone with your actions. He, swt, says in the Qura’nقُلْ إِنَّ صَلاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ “ (الأنعام 162)”The deed/action should be in accordance with the legislations and rulings of the Qura’n and Sunnah– abiding by the orders and prohibitions. The above two factors are fundamental, and there is a more general caution to take into consideration: a good deed that Allah swt accepts is pure, that is it has to be free from ostentation, showiness, or any other ruining elements of hypocrisy and other diseases of the heart.
  3. Presenter’s NotesAbel and Cain, the first brothers in the history of humanity, the sons of Adampbuh, were to get married to two women of varying assets. Eve used to beget two twins in each pregnancy, a male and a female, and so as the children grew up, a male from one pregnancy would marry the female from the other pregnancy. . . . In short, Abel (Habil) was to marry Cain’s (Qabil) sister. Cain protests and argues he is the worthier of his sister (she was the better of the two women– perhaps she was the prettier). Upon this, Adam pbuh tells his sons to make a sacrifice to Allah and whose sacrifice is accepted should marry the woman who is the subject of dispute (Cain’s twin).Cain, a farmer, picks up a bundle of bad plants, whereas Abel, a shepherd, brings forth the best of his herd to sacrifice to Allah and it is his offering that is accepted. And as the Qura’n narrates the story of the two brothers, we learn that ”إنما يتقبلُ اللهُ من المُتقين“So, how what would a God-fearing/pious Muslim offer? When we intend something for the sake of Allah, to attain his pleasure, we need to make certain that we are giving away something good, pure, and precious (not necessarily money wise). Do not offer clothes that are almost rags or a stale meal you wouldn’t like to eat or a tasteless food that you didn’t savor. Instead, give that which you cherish, as much as you can afford. Think in an altruistic manner and always remember you are seeking something more important than what you are giving away. If you are trading, you would pay a huge sum of money because you want to gain even a larger sum, so how about when that which you wish to gain is priceless: Allah’s contentment. Share your delicious nourishing meals with the poor, offer them from that same container you are serving yourself. Give away an outfit not because it is outdated but because it is good, obtained from halal money, and you yourself would love to be seen wearing it.And again, remember that we must purify our actions from pride, self-admiration, arrogance, envy, jealousy . . . .etc. Websiteshttp://honeyfortheheart.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/hadith-10-allah-is-pure-accepts-only-pure-deeds/
