3. 1.0 Introduction to Photoshop
Photoshop is Adobe's photo editing, image creation and graphic design software. The
software provides many image editing features for raster (pixel-based) images as well
as vector graphics. It uses a layer-based editing system that enables image creation and
altering with multiple overlays that support transparency. Layers can also act as masks or
filters, altering underlying colors. Shadows and other effects can be added to the layers.
Photoshop actions include automation features to reduce the need for repetitive tasks. An
option known as Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud) allows users to work on content from any
computer.
Adobe Photoshop is wonderful, it is used to edit the digital image application, It helps
improve the quality of a photograph, it is the assistant with the artists who rely
on Photoshop to make the artwork. The students can learn Photoshop in Image Editing
classes. When learn how to use Photoshop, it can improve your skills, it is possible to clear
up the blemishes and the imperfections in the photos. It can remove and change the
backgrounds in the photos. The images can be altered to fix the faults, the photographs can
be given an professional look when a standard camera is used. New artwork images can be
created and edited. It is very easy to begin editing the photos, Adobe Photoshop helps to
reduce the red eye or to whiten the teeth with the click of a button. It can adjust the skin
tones of people in the pictures. Most of the edits regularly done on the photos can be
completed with a single click, there is no professional training is needed to complete the
complex tasks like adjusting skin tone. We can use Adobe Photoshop to import the videos
and the photos into the software quickly and easily. Everything will be organized in a neat
and orderly way on screen.
Adobe Photoshop is relatively simple to use but it is not a program designed for the
beginners, it is primarily a photo-editing program for the professionals that plan on editing
many photos on a regular basis. There are many different tools that do very different things,
so, it will take long time to learn how to use each one correctly. Adobe Photoshop is not free,
it is a proprietary software, meaning its source code is a secret. Source code is the code in
which any computer program is written by the human programmers. Adobe Photoshop is
relatively expensive. When compared with otherphoto-editing software, it has so many
features and it is thus regarded as the industry standard in the graphic designing. Adobe
Photoshop requires a well-equipped computer, itt is a heavyweight program and many of the
tools are computationally intensive. It takes up a large space of room on your computer as
well as RAM memory .

4. 2.0 Adobe Photoshop CC
2.1 Getting started with Photoshop
1) Start file. Once the program has started, it need to open a new file in order to create
an image. This can be done by clicking the main menu button and selecting “New”.
Now it will be presented with a variety of options. This will allow to customize starting
canvas. These options can be changed. Just be aware that changing certain options
after beginning work will affect the image and need to be compensated for
2) Choose dimensions. The first several options are for setting the dimensions of
canvas or work area. From the picture above, we are using pixels unit with width 1200
and height 240 to make a header. And then click „OK‟

5. 2.2 Open an image in a new layer
From diagram 2.2.1, we can see the white background that has been created. Drag
and drop the new image into the Photshop window. But, we can also click the “File”
menu, click “Open,” select the image file and click the “Open” button. Press the
“Enter” key to confirm and add the image as a new layer. If added the wrong image to
the project, press the “Escape” key to revert. We can just adding other image by the
same step as a new layer.
From the diagram 2.2.2. the second image is added using on the first layer backround using
the same step. The size of the image can be adjusted using Transform tool.

6. 2.3 Layer tool
A layer can be used for an image, text, brush strokes, background colors, patterns,
and filters. This layers as sheets of glass stacked on top of one another that use to
create a final product. Each sheet can be modified individually without affecting the
project as a whole. Layer tool placed on the bottom right-hand corner of Photoshop
screen, by default. We can also access it by clicking "Layer" in the top menu bar. To
add or delete a layer: from the top menu bar, choose Layer > New > Layer. To select
a layer: the selected layer is highlighted in blue. To edit a specific part of the image,
we need to select the specific layer. There's an "eye" symbol next to each layer: Click
that symbol to turn the eye on and off, thereby toggling the visibility of that layer as
you work.

7. 2.4 Custom fonts and text tool
The text tool let we add custom fonts to database, and it gives access to advanced font
settings that give text some serious style. The text tools located on the toolbar on your
left, near the bottom.
Once click the Text tool icon, all of the settings and font options will pop up at the top of
screen. These settings let we change the font, font size, and spacing between
characters, height, width, color, and style. Be sure to select the layer of text to edit it.
Click the "T" icon on the left side bar, drag the text box over any particular area to
appear the text, and we‟re set to go. Whenever we create a text box, Photoshop will
generate a layer for it. We can choose the color, size, stroke, font style, and a variety of
other options to switch things up.

8. 2.5 The move tool
This is a fairly basic tool that allows to move individual elements of the graphic. The
Move tool works on individual layers, and on the graphic as a whole. It comes in handy
when you‟re trying to reposition images, text, and other design elements. The move
tool lacated on the toolbar on the left, at the top.
Click the Move Icon from the left hand menu bar and simply drag the object(s) or
image would like to move. To move all objects in one layer, simply highlight the layer
and use the Move tool. You can also right click the object for additional options.
To scale, rotate, move, and flip things. The Free Transform tool lets scale, rotate,
move, and flip any element in selected layer or layers. Use the shortcut CTRL +
T or Command + T (for Macs) to initiate Free Transform, and check out the options that
pop up at the top of screen. Hold the SHIFT key while transforming to maintain the
proportions of your elements.

9. 2.6 Save file type
We will want to begin saving our work fairly early on in the creation process. This will
keep us from losing data in the event of a crash. Save the file from the menu much as
would in any other program. This will bring up the usual save window, at which point
will need to choose the file type to save it as.
If still working on a file, save it as a PSD or Photoshop Document, as this will keep all
of the editing capabilities of the file intact. It will also preserve layers. If want to save
the file to be uploaded to the web or added into another program, save a separate
copy as an image file. The most common option will be a JPG, though want to save
as a GIF if wish to preserve transparencies. There is also the option to save as a
PDF. This is helpful if the image is largely text-based or is intended for printing on
standard paper.

10. 3.0 Conclusion
Adobe Photoshop is one of the popular software that plays an important role for editing
images or designing pictures. Adobe Photoshop not only being used for the designers or
image editors but students also should know how to use this software. Photoshop turns
mere pictures into masterpieces. Its versatility made it in demand in the creative world for it is
the best photo editing software program that gives you great features for a totally terrific
design. Other than that, Adobe Photoshop is user friendly and it provides tools that will aid us
in the editing and enhancing of photos. We can also do some lay-outing and designing from
a blank document, whatever size we want.
Adobe Photoshop helps us to express ourself creatively. Once we start editing
pictures or images using these software ourself can go beyond the limits of creativity. In
addition,when we start exploring, we will certainly explore more and learn to use them for
our designs. Besides, we will soon find out how to make our designs better. And as we
create and design each day, our ideas will surely come to life. This software also helps us to
create different graphic design projects . Starting from learn how to editing photos, we can
applied this skills to create a greeting card, a business card, a poster, and others. By using
the different creative tools in this software, a great design that surely will come up and it will
not only impress others but it also enable us to apply our ideas and creativity into it

In a conclusion, whoever we are, a future educator, students or just an ordinary
person need to know how to use this software to apply this skills and knowledge in the
future. When we learned how to used the Photoshop, it helps ourselves to be more creative
and being creative is one of the skills that everyone should have. The outputs in Photoshop
are mind blowing. The more we practicing this feature rich software, the more confidence we
will gain. We can impress our potential students or someone who interested in this field by
showing our Photoshop skills. Besides , we can also secure a job in a reputed web design
agency or work as a freelance web or graphic designer and earn greatly.
