1. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Myself purushottam Kumar, I have always been infatuated by the thought of working for my
batch mates and leave a long lasting impression. So if I able to become a part placecom this
will provide me with such opportunities in one or other way. A person comes to B- school for
an all round and holistic development, learning new things, and developing new skills in next
two years which will always stay with him for rest of his life. Also bring a member of placecom
will enhance my networking, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Placement is always an- integrated part of any B- school and IIM V is no exception, Hence the
amount of hard work and stress associated with this responsibility will always be the highest
among all the other responsibilities. Understanding this fact the amount of respect and
dedication towards this responsibility is also the highest which inspires me to go for it.
With a rich experience around 47 months in core sector (Information Technology ) I have
made some valuable contacts and being a tutor for more than 40 months I had taught the
children of many company owner , managers and contractors. So currently , I ma having a very
rich network also being a tutor posses high skills to convince others. I have tremendous amount
of peers and seniors of my undergraduate college working in the core sector at various
important positions which can be tapped as resources by placecom. As I already have worked
in a corporate setup , I know how things are done and a how a job is performed. Thereby
knowing all about the communication. I am very much professional in my approach and will
bring initiatives such as tapping of the alumni and peer resources of my batchmates at IIM V .
Many people find new or changed environment difficult to handle, I knew how to handle it
with ease. I have a very fast paced environment and understand how to navigate the changes
and provide high quality work, despite not knowing what may be coming at me. Over the next
year, I will continue to remain nimble and adapt to change circumstances. As I changes as an
opportunity and encourage others to take initiative wen new projects or assignments come
available and quickly adapt when time require it. I believe I am a very flexible as well as
diverse person.
Many of the times when I struggle with new work, assignments and training. I understand
how important these are to Business. I have already worked with any type of group whether it
is formal or informal groups. And I think it’s a very powerful tool as groups represent power,
so a member can sometime raise feeling of self esteem like being accepted inti a highly valued
group or groups.
As I am having some strategies for to place batch are like collecting the database of the students
and analyzing them to understand the requirements of each student, having very frank
interaction with them to make understand. Tell them how to conduct themselves in the
corporate world , collecting the data of potential recruiters, interacting with HRs to understand
what requirements are and managing these expectations to the best ability. Getting recruiters
from diverse backgrounds to match the diversity of our college and getting the alumni base
through collaboration with Adcom to consider recruiting from their own college. Creating
innovative events where potential recruiters get interact with the students where they directly
understand our potential and advantages of recruiting students from our college.
