There are different forms of energy on earth. The sun is considered the
elemental form of energy on earth. In physics, energy is considered a
quantitative property that can be transferred from an object to perform work.
Hence, we can define energy as the strength to do any kind of physical activity.
Thus, in simple words, we can define energy as,

The objective of Energy Management is to achieve and maintain optimum energy
procurement and utilisation, throughout the organization and: To minimise
energy costs and energy waste without affecting production & quality.
Also the other objectives are conservation,
climate protection and cost savings, while the users have
permanent access to the energy they need.
It is connected closely to environmental management,
production management, logistics and other established business functions.
METHODS OF ENERGY CONSERVATION
Energy conservation is the act of reducing the usage and wastage of energy.
Switching off the AC, light, etc., when nobody is in the room are a few practices
that help in energy conservation. We know energy is a broad term and is the
fundamental source of living.To reduce the environmental impact on society,
energy conservation measures are being imparted. Remember, by saving energy,
you are protecting the environment directly.

can even be harnessed in cloudy weather. The rate at which
solar energy is intercepted by the Earth is about 10,000 times
greater than the rate at which humankind consumes energy.

electricity, and fuels for a host of applications. Solar
technologies convert sunlight into electrical
energy either through panels or through mirrors that
concentrate solar radiation.
Although not all countries are equally endowed
with solar energy, a significant contribution
to the energy mix from direct
solar energy is possible for every country.

As a renewable source of power, solar energy has an

9. WIND ENERGY
Wind energy harnesses the kinetic energy of moving air by
using large wind turbines located on land (onshore) or in sea-
or freshwater (offshore). Wind energy has been used for

have evolved over the last few years to maximize the electricity
produced - with taller turbines and larger rotor diameters.
Though average wind speeds vary considerably by location,
the world’s technical potential for wind energy exceeds global
electricity production, and ample potential exists in most
regions of the world to enable significant wind energy
deployment.

Renewable energy supplies reduce the emission of greenhouse gases
significantly if replaced with fossil fuels. Since renewable energy supplies are
obtained naturally from ongoing flows of energy in our surroundings, it
should be sustainable.
