2. Yelena Davydova (born August 7, 1961
in Voronezh) is a Russian (former Soviet)
athlete, winner of the Olympic Games in
1980.
3. Davydova became interested in gymnastics at the age
of six when she saw the famous Soviet Olympic gold
medalists Larisa Petrik and Natalia Kuchinskaya on
TV.
4. In 1978 Davydova won a gold medal with the
team and a silver medal on the balance beam.
She became a top competitor in her own
country, but she did not compete in international
championships until the 1980 Summer
Olympics, which were held in Moscow.

6. In 1991 Yelena Davydova moved to Canada. Now she works there as a Head
Coach.
