Purpose <ul><li>1. Lavel test tubes throgh </li></ul><ul><li>2. Follow the instructions for the reaction </li></ul><ul><li>3. Write formulas for reactans in your table </li></ul><ul><li>4. Predict the products by writing the full chemical equation for the reaction. </li></ul><ul><li>5. Balance the equation. Classify the reaction. </li></ul><ul><li>6.Record observations about all details of the reaction. </li></ul><ul><li>7. Keep the test tubes containing reactions in a rack. </li></ul><ul><li>8.Record any additional observations from changes that ocurred over the lab period. </li></ul><ul><li>9. When finished, clean the equipment you used and put it away. </li></ul>
  4. 4. EXPERIMENT 6 <ul><li>Station 6: </li></ul><ul><li>Test tube 6: Dissolve in water a small quantity of FeCl 3 and 5 or 6 drops of NaOH (aq). </li></ul>
  5. 6. EXPERIMENT 1 <ul><li>Station 1: </li></ul><ul><li>Test tube 1: In one test tube, mix a few pieces of solid zinc metal with two dopper-fulls of copper (II) nitrate solution. Look closely at the Zn in the tube, and then note the color of the solution . </li></ul>
