CATEGORY 1: DISABLED PATIENTS
• Population having sort of disability - 2.2%
• Mobility issues - 6.5 million issues.
CATEGORY 2: ACCIDENT CASES
1. Accidents by Cause - A total of 480,652 road accidents took place in India in 2019, an
average of 414 a day or 17 an hour (Ministry Report)
• Deaths in road accidents is primarily because of lack of immediate medical attention to the
patients, evacuation mattress can come in handy in carrying patients.
• Minor injuries at home or place of work.
2. Accidents due to force of nature - Disaster Management post natural disasters, pandemic.
Problem Holders – Patients and their families, Hospital staff, Evacuation teams.
2. Finer aspects of the problem
Specially Abled Population
• Most places like banks, malls, multi-storey apartments have staircases which make them
inaccessible for specially abled people.
• Frequent Hospital visits becomes struggle as it require patients living in apartments to use
staircases.
• Equipments like normal stretcher requires more manpower to carry patients around.
• Impossible to carry patients without aid of multiple family members.
Accident Cases
• In severe accident cases, its difficult to carry patients for immediate medical attention without
external help which can cause loss of life.
• Ambulances and stretcher take time to arrive causing delay in treatment.
• People having minor injuries and fainting spells can also use the mattress for transportation.
• Evacuation mattress is portable and can be used to carry patients single-handedly.
Disaster Management
• Evacuation operations in times of natural disasters, fire drills or war zones, our solution will
require less manpower and will ease the process.
• Easy to carry injured patients, people who have some panic attack during disasters.
